raised but never dedicated. i believe he is now living with his girlfriend. pretty sure he was not baptized. he speaks well of the jws though. i heard once from someone who "supposedly" knew the family that his dad pushed him pretty hard in the direction of college and basketball because he was so talented.

i did not want to hijack the other thread on KH funerals. when i got married, my wife and i were married at the KH. i wanted a particular family member as my best man but because he was not a baptized brother, they would not allow it. i was told that if i wanted to use him, i could get married somewhere else and i would have to find another brother to perform the marriage vows. this all happened 4 days before the wedding. we had already paid for the tux, and the invitation printed with the wedding party. there was no way that we could secure another place in 4 days. to say that my relative was pi$$ed is not even close to what happened. he came to the wedding for me and my wife, but to this day he will not have anything to do with witnesses. he was always very favorable up to that point. what really bothered me though was that there was a wedding only a short time after ours and they let someone in who was only studying and was known for still living a "debauched lifestyle".

Puppeting the Message
by Hope4Others inquite a few years back i had various pioneer friends who were asked to give experiences at the circuit conventions.. they were to write up there experience first give it to the elder and they would go over it.. however, when it came time for this the elder who was giving the part decided to change their experience and it did not.
and was not even truthful now, it was not how it happened.
my one friend in particular was very upset about this because.

Are you internet addict at work?
by asilentone inif you are internet addict at work, do you have internet at home?
well, i work from home.
i have been thinking about getting a job outside of the home and use the internet at work, when i get home from work, there will be no internet at home, so i would not be internet junkie anymore at home.

if i spent as much time working as i am on the internet at work, i would be president of the company. however, with that said, every person around me is on the internet more than anything. anytime you walk into someone's office, they are on some web site that is not work related.

Facebook --- again
by rockmehardplace inone of the jws in my congo told me to search a name on facebook which is a 18+ year old brother in our kh who is for most part, a very "spiritual" brother.
i looked him up and his account is open for anyone to see.
best part, he has some pictures that could very well put him into alot of trouble.

have you ever come across any pictures or stuff on facebook or other sites that makes you wonder why the person, if not wanting to get caught, would not hide it.

GB says they are NOT responsible for people acting on their counsel
by LUKEWARM in.. *** w98 3/15 p. 22 par.
15 living up to christian dedication in freedom ***.
15if a witness makes decisions on the basis of bible counsel offered by the governing body, he does so of his own volition because his own study of the bible has convinced him that this is the proper course.

let's think about this. you do something that brings you before the elders then. the elders tell you what you should do. you do it and it backfires. your fault, you listened to them. now...try this. you go before the elders for something. the elders tell you what you should do. you do not do it. you get kicked out like yesterdays trash.
i get it now. you are screwed either way.

Favorite country music albums?
by JimmyPage ini'm not much of a country music fan but i've listened to a little over the years.
the albums i've owned have been "best of" garth brooks, alabama, and dwight yoakam.
i also grew up with john denver's "back home again" album.

one of my fav alt country bands at one time was Whiskeytown. here is a link to one of their songs. ryan adams was the front man for the group and went on to a rather successful solo career.
