I've been here for a long time too... though sometimes I just don't have the time to post.. I go in spurts of activity... sometimes I have time on my hands and can post... sometimes I just don't have too much time and spend it catching up with topics... but I try to check in everyday... I can't check in at work... so it's a home thing....
I think that everyone has something to offer, and I love seeing new people coming out of their shell and posting.. it is rather daunting at first... you just don't know what's gonna happen... but, much more often than not... newbies are welcomed warmly... and you newbies touch my heart. I think given the fear aspect, that your all very brave to post here. Seeing the support and care people give and get here is always heart warming to me... Almost everyone here is so genuine... so empathetic... I find that rare, and that's why I'm addicted to the board... we've got quite a wonderful community here....
Even the occasional troll is entertaining at least... lol.... and when posters get worked up into a lather, it can be very informative... only occasionally does it go too far... but when it does, it gets dealt with pretty quick... The diversity here is what attracts me most... and you newbies add to the content and flavour of the board... delicious!

I like Frannie's ideas... I like the secret santa stuff too... try to do something every year... but wow... what a surprise someone would have if I won the lottery!
Most important....my son would have no problems with affording his education!
We would definately move... not too far, but far enough....just to keep the riff raf out....I'd keep it quiet too....I've seen what happens to relationships and expectations when someone comes into money....It ain't pretty....I'd have a house with a big property....probably buy up a farm and do it up...I'd love to have an orchard, gardens, and I'd do the barn up like a big party central! Two lane bowling alley... bar.. big party room, prolly a gym... ya know... all the fixins... I've seen it done before and it's awesome!I definately would have to have an A postafest!!!!! A big one...!
I would have my own business too... help family out (my sister...and her wonderful family... by brother can rot...
(well, I'd prolly still send something... but I wouldn't tell him it was me... lol...he could be my secret santa project for the year...lol) and some friends for sure... I would for sure donate to the board... Tanx Simon! but I'd want to keep it simple... make sure there was enough left to live on... just in case...

It's truly remarkable how hot/cold you are here... in all honesty, I don't beleive a word you say. I don't beleive your here to cause anything but trouble... I think you use this place to spew all your anger, all your disappointment and all your ignorance....you've done this since you first started posting. I have no doubt that you have been a dub... as I have no doubt you are an angry, bitter person. I've watched you from your first post, and even though many here have given you a chance, you end up doing what you came here to do... spew.... Your not looking for happiness, your looking for a fight.
I for one, won't miss you when your not here... I hope you get the help you so obviously need. And I can't think of a better reward for the dubs than to have the likes of you heaped on them! I call that, real poetic justice! I think in this case that the WT is in need of our best wishes.... heheheheh....
Good luck... and good riddance... but I have a feeling you won't stop posting any time soon....

Are JW's supposed to do this???
by neverthere inthere was a group of jw ladies handing out the publications on the street the other day.
although i have never been a jw i have had contact through my first husband's family.
what i want to know is this: are they supposed to hand these publications to children?

Yep, they do crap like that... a suggestion that I have is, if they try to hand stuff to you, and more especially your children.. take it, and rip it to shreds right in front of them... that might make them think twice...
As far as getting angry... it doesn't work... it only gets you worked up.. but calmly, ripping their literature to bits, is going to get their attention... and if they touch your children... charge them.... plain and simple...
As far as topics in that situation... usually there is not enough time... and you don't want to expose your children to them for that long... just tell them your not interested, firmly and walk away.... kiddies in tow...
Then you can have a conversation with the kids about why you did what you did.

For me, the difference is that as dubs...we pretended love and friendship, pretended righteousness, pretended to be happy, pretended our lives away....
As a person of the world (which we all are truly, whether we pretend otherwise or not) I don't have to pretend anything. I can be involved if I choose, I can really love, really be right (lol) and really be happy. There is no comparison between the two... There's nothing like the real thing! (in all of it's aspects)
Dubs can pretend all they like, but when it comes to showing what they really are, how they really feel... all you have to do is disagree with them... or just not be the average dub.....then you'll see the only thing dubs don't pretend is their hate....the only real expression they are allowed is hate.....and that IMO is perverse! I prefer the worldly alternative.... choice!
