i see what your saying, but, i disagree. if some scumbag thinks the woman he's about to rob or rape may have a gun, he may think twice about it. if guns are in the hands of the right people, crime may go down.

i have struggled with this concept for quite some time.

i feel like the apostle paul in that he wishes to do right by god in controling this issue, but find it to be a law exercising complete control over him.

i find myself wondering what is the use in doing so?

i went through this too. the feelings that something is wrong with me. it wasn't until i was able to prove to myself that the witnesses are wrong that i was able to start healing. i was able to finally choose my own path. after alot of reading and pondering, i realised there was nothing wrong with me or god. it is men that are the problem. the men that wrote the bible, the men that made religions, the men that told everyone what god was and used god for their own means. once i understood this, i was able to break free from the j.w.'s the bible, and finally christianity. i have a closer relationship with god now more than ever. i am at peace. hopefully, you will find your own path and are able to breath the sweet air of freedom. it is a slow path, but, if taken you will be able to break free of the burdon.

besty, i'm sorry, i'm still failing to see the point. i know america is in major trouble, and we need to change alot, and fast. however, gun control is not the issue. if someone breaks into your house, seconds count. gun laws will only disarm the people who should have guns, and give power to those who don't abide by the law no matter what.

besty, really, healthcare reform? you really think that's gonna make people not want to shoot other people? i'd love to see the logic behind this. and if you want to say that psycho analysis will prevent it, remember, alot of people that do this show no more signs that they are about to attempt this than an average person. there are a few examples, like the nazi who shot up a memorial, however most people just snap and do it.

i have a serious question for people that are anti-gun. do you believe it's okay to throw a rock, or hit them with a baseball bat if they are threatning people? what's the difference between that and the safer alternative, a well aimed shot from a distance. a gun is a tool. it is a means to an end.

I love that post above from Bendrr - more guns = less death. Welcome to America.

Now thats what I call compelling argumentation.

i also agree with bendrr. Si vis pacem, para bellum. that's my motto. fact is, if more responsible people would arm themselves, the bad guys may think twice before going on one of their little rampages. even if suicide is their motive, you can save lives if lead is returned quicker.

Watchtower Moving its Headquarters from USA?

i may be behind times, but i have not seen this issue come up.

i have had some contact with jws inside the organization who said that the society is planning to move its headquarters from brooklyn, ny to canada, lock, stock, and barrel.

is this an urban legend, a jw pulling my leg, or is it factual?
