The service meeting followed by TMS.... Why did it always go over!?!?!?! Book study was hard in a home, sitting on the a comfy couch and looking at the turned off TV wondering what I was missing or if I would finish my homework for the next morning.

Informal poll...Which Meeting was the most boring for you? Which one did you stop attending first?
by mindmelda infor me, it was always the theocratic ministry school/field service meeting.. strangely, i never minded giving talks, because i always wanted to perform and have virtually no stage fright.
but, listening to some of the deadly dull talks used to make me look at the clock a lot.
i always felt sorry for some poor slob who had to give his first bible reading on something like job's daughters raping him after getting him drunk.. i swear i think our school overseer did it on purpose because he was a mean sob.. and, i hated field slavery as my parents became witnesses when i was about 12, never did get a good attitude about it.

What is the Christian Militia?
by cameo-d ini don't get it.. a couple of months ago i saw a video (rachael maddow) with all these people in senate, or congress, or whatever they were....praying with all the whoop-tee-do hand-holding, hand waving, head nodding, foot stomping, body rocking motions of out of control pentecostals.
so it seems apparent that the "religious right" is alive and well and totally infiltrating in high government positions.. but then, at the same time, there seems to be a consensus that there is a christian militia with intention of disrupting everything and hollering about the government taking away their rights.. i have seen videos with christians wearing their guns to church.
years ago, something like this would not be allowed.

I agree BTS, but people got to see what they voted for. Malcontents of the nation, unite! If they traveled to other countries and saw how they lived they'd realize this is the best shot you got in the world.

I'm going back!!!
by badseed inwell, kinda.
i'll be moving across country in a few weeks and i want to get a different perspective on this religion.
so i'm playing the theocratic warfare card, rather than let them know i was once a witness and now disfellowshipped, i'll just pretend to be interested and maybe accept a bible study..lol.

My first experience at a Christian church--for what it's worth
by bluecanary ini am dating an advent christian (very similar to baptist).
i went to church with him for the first time yesterday.
i was pleased that he wanted me there because it's nice to be included in things that are meaningful to him.

BlueCanary- I think that is awesome. I call what the witnesses to do us as "spiritual poisioning". They rather see us flounder and die spiritually than move on. It's like an abusive spouse that says go ahead and leave no one else wants you. I got to a great non-denom church and we see our selves as part of a larger body of christ that includes all believers even if we have minor doctrinal differences. This is actually biblical, it advises against being quarellsome and divisive. The best advice I was given was by a friend that said to visit 20 churches if I must. It's always a great experience to find a place where you fit the best.

Thank you brothers for showing me what a miserable life you have making books and literature-crap for free. I wanted nothing more than to go to Bethel tell I saw how miserable you looked on a tour when I was 12. I was changed forever, was the beginning of the end for me. I even got to see your rooms and eat in your dining hall. I could not believe how "supervised" everything was. If I wanted to be in the military I would just join the army.

Cameo, where has any religious group or leader endorsed these guys. They are just a handful of whack jobs. If we can believe not all muslims want to be terrorist when the most mosques refuse to take a hard stand against terrorism. Why can't we believe that these guys are just a wheel's off group when every conservative and religous leader I have heard today has condemend these guys?

Had a date with a 7th day adventist last night
by Brocephus ini had a date with a seventh day adventist, was interesting to compare childhood traumas.
the best was her stories about the day she let the jw's in the house and her dad whipped out his bible and had a "discussion".
i told her imagine having to dress up like a funeral director and walk around with the dubs... i got a sympathy kiss out of it... lol.

Ha ha.... she said it still jacks with her cuz on Saturday they could not watch TV or do anything but stare at the walls and argue with JW's that banged on the door.....
Funny you should mention Mormon. I had a young chap come into the pub last week I was at. He was real trendy with long hair, piercings, tattoes and all. He was a real critical, sarcastic asshole. I was just about ready to punch him when I said. What is your problem, if anyone would be accepting of different people I would think it would be you. He said, "Sorry maybe it's cuz I was raise a Mormom" I said, "Jehovah's Witness" We high fived and stayed up till 2 AM buying eachother shots before we got in a fight with some guy messing with his girl... It was a neat experience. Yes I won the fight and got the bastard banned that was jacking with my new buddy.

Losing the war on Facebook
by Brocephus inok this is weird i am noticing more and more jw's on facebook.
even an elder i know has started an account.
at first it seemed like it was just the "spiritually weak" who really don't care or do much field service.

I think that's what they are afraid of Undercover is people being able to complain with out the shepherds to qaush it.... Could you imagine.. Become a fan of "Field Service Sucks" or Become a Fan of "I wish I could date or go to college".... The anarchy!
