If you would decrease the age by 30 years....then there can be some what if a recovery but at 80....you are done like a overcooked turkey. It's funny but sad to picture a 80 year old getting kicked out in the cold by the WT.

A bad situation to get into, knowing what you know. Your girlfriend would essentially become married to 2 husbands, you and the organization. Who you think she would choose to stay with in the end? -

Predestination
by whathehadas inhey has anybody seen this movie yet?
it's one of the craziest films i've seen in awhile.
it's a combination of minority report, looper, and back to the future.

It was a little puzzling with the whole past, present, future thing. I don't want to spoil the movie for others but I don't get how you can create yourself from your future self? -

Hey has anybody seen this movie yet? It's one of the craziest films I've seen in awhile. It's a combination of Minority Report, Looper, and Back to the Future. A mind bending psycho thriller. Seems like it has a social agenda in it

An experience at Bethel
by joe134cd ini was just thinking of something i observed on a visit to bethel some years back, that at the time struck me as odd, but now that i look back on it, it might be revealing about their financial situation.
please feel free to agree/disagree with me and also bear in mind this is some years back so my memory may be sketchey.
i remember walking into the front entrance of the bethel to do a tour.

I had to collect the small pieces of soap left in the shower, put them in a bucket of hot water and mash them together to make a bigger bar to be used later.
WTF? That's some nasty sh#t! Why would anyone want to reuse soap that washed someone else arse and privates?

Why I remain one of Jehovah's Witnesses
by Brother Jeramy inallow me to begin with a clarification: when i say i am one of jehovah's witnesses, i don't mean that i am an advocate of the watchtower society or a devotee of some of its more controversial false teachings.
i mean that i am a christian, a disciple of jesus christ dedicated to jehovah god, and who remains in union with my brothers and sisters who make up the family of faith that globally refers to itself as jehovah's witnesses.
some totally understand the distinction between the family of brothers and sisters and the corporate organization known as the watchtower society (wts).

How Do You Feel About All The Time You Wasted Being. A Jehovah's Witness?

I don't know HOW you can say that being a JW wasn't a waste of time? It WASN'T the Truth, so all the energy, time and money were futile in it. The things learn in it that is redeemable now on the outside, could have been learned without being in a cult. I personally didn't have a horrific experience like some in it but the time in it could have been used for gaining experience in REAL relationships and education. Pisses me the F@#$ off thinking about that time lost!

I listened. I obeyed. Then I realized...
by stillin inwhat was that blessing part about?
i kept hearing pioneers talking about the blessings that they were receiving and as i looked at their lives objectively, there really isn't anything special about them.
maybe they are just more appreciative of things than other people.

@FayeDunaway they're probably relieved that they don't have to pay you back unless......you take them to small claims court, since you're no longer their "Brother/Sister".
I remember always being "encouraged" by the pioneers in my Congo to join them in the work. I would look at their beater car, a minimal job, all the hours spent in field circus, and I would say to myself. ...Hell No! What made it worse was when I did spend time with them as a auxiliary pioneer, I would see how MUCH they would gossip about everyone in the hall. What a bunch of judgemental, pious, egotistical, brown-nosing, back-biting, cheap wad, $##t head Mutha&#*@$#!!!

Hey Tony, welcome to the forum.
I don't know why you are still going to Hall after you've learned the Real truth? Especially now that you're d'fed, there's no point in trying to front for a extended period of time to get the "friends" back. It's better to cut the ties now and live a honest life. It's your decision though.
