it is really outstanding the transformation of persons who were associated with jws from neutral subjects to outright warmongers, especially those who used to profess brotherhood with christ.
while everyone is entitled to their opinions on matters of world politics, but to foster and promote bloodshed and destruction in the name of peace and pre-emptive defense runs jarringly against the grain of anything called christian.. .

I usually keep my 2 cents out of these type of discussions, since I still support the JW belief of not taking sides in governmental affairs. I guess you can say I'm a fence sitter regarding foreign affairs.
I think the United States has invested too much time and money in to playing "We police the world."
But on the flip side, I think their actions in WWII were warranted. My Grandmother died in the Holocaust, and I've spent an extended amount of time researching it. And you're right 151. Hitler was a great figure head, speaker, and demi-god. But his military skills were indeed lacking.
I tend to not be a very patriotic. And while I am deeply sympathetic to the victims of 9/11, I believe the United States, and our arrogance brought this upon ourselves....
But anyway, the point that caught my attention was the mention of chemicals used during Vietnam. My dad spent a total of 3 years there. During that time he was exposed to "Agent Orange." I'm not really sure what the function of the chemical was, but I know it destroyed the skin on his arms, in his later years. He was involved in a quiet class-action suit against the US.
Basically, the President and Congress, couldn't care less whether those in the military live or die.Or stay in good mental health after returning from war.
Every day hundreds of innocent people in the mid east are killed, bombed. But it never makes such an impact as just a few Americans.
Our self-righteousness and cockiness is truely sickning.....
(I know, I opened a can of worms. Let teh trash talking begin)

and I know Agent Orange was also supposed to cause sterility in men. Well my dad had me at 54, and got my mom pregnant again 9 years later. So obviously it didn't effect that part of him

Actually my dad is a pretty cool guy, and despite everything I still have a lot of respect for him. It's my mom you have to worry about. Though if you tried to kick her ass, she probably wouldn't feel it. It's a very large ass.....

how does one usually get picked for this talk?
generally, during an elder's meeting, one elder will have his pet peeve.he convinces the body that this issue has to be handled by the body.

I turned out as best as can be expected. But they sure did a number on my sister. Instead of saving her life, they helped to ruin it. And they still refuse to take responsibility for anything.
My sister is now, homeless, on the streets, addicted to drugs, and without custody of both of her children...... My parents say her problems are because she denies Jehovah....
Then what about me?

Sexual Offender in my hall.

You're right about the fact that she was looking for love from anyone. Her father had done time in prison and walked out on her family when she was about 8.
No one ever got involved. She was overly mature for 14. No one looked at it as "molestation." Rather they saw it as him having an affair.
The elders worked in service with her and had a bible study with the entire family. Her mother was single
Her sister was angry because it was her sister.
She ended up getting married at 18, to a guy who had just gotten out of jail. They've been married 5 years now...
I haven't talked to her since I was 15

Hey, I'm a publisher again
by RunningMan inlast night, i returned from the chess club with my son to find my wife on the phone.
apparently the congregation secretary had phoned to get our time.
not wanting to disappoint him, she put us both down for two hours.. now, none of us have stepped foot in a kingdom hall since april 10, and we haven't been out in service since march/01.
