Yes, I've read the NWT along with the King James bible. I read them together virtually verse by verse. It was a real ee opener. I've also read The Book of Mormon and a great majority of the Koran.

Have you re-read the bible since leaving the Kingdom Hall?
by Eyebrow2 ini always wanted to re-read the bible after i left the org; to be able to read it without having to feel like i had to apply something, or to have to read it out of obedience, etc.... well, i have always liked the new world translation, i know it isn't perfect, but i think it is better than some.
but i have always wanted to get a different modern english translation, and read that.
well, i finally picked up a new international version at wal-mart the other day...under $6, what a bargain.. started last night, and finished genesis today, and am just starting into exodous.

I like the naked lady lighters, who's boobies light up when you light it. They make great stocking stuffers ;)

Is your family close??...
by Hecklerboy ini was talking to a good friend of mine the other night on the phone and i was telling him about my wife wondering why my family isn't very close.
when we started thinking about it we both decided it was because we grew up jw's.
i would love to be closer to my family, but it just seems we have nothing to talk about.

No my family is the most opposite (what ever you would call that) of close. I have 3 sisters whom I've only seen twice in my life, and a half-brother I havent spoken to in 8 years. My cousins hate each other, my aunts and uncles hate each other, and everybody hates me. I'm only now learning what a normal loving family is, and they arent even my blood family. The only family members I have ANY contact with, is my cousin from Kentucky whom I am terribly close to, and my oldest sister whom I just recently established a relationship with after nearly 20 years.

by missy04 inwhat is the most ridiculous things you have done for a cigarette?.

I dont think I've ever done anything too crazy. Maybe after a drink, without a smoke, offering people a dollar for one cigarette. But I have had many occassion, when after a few drinks, I've lit my cigarette backwards. One New Years Eve party when I had just gotten out of highschool, I smoked the whole damn thing backwards without ever noticing ;)

What's your worst job experiences?
by missy04 ini don't have too many crumby experiences, but i was just sitting here thinking about when i worked as a hostess at a local restaurant.
it was kind of a family-owned restaurant, and whoever had worked there for a long time still worked there no matter how @$@#^ their attitudes were.
i tried and tried to just be polite and have conversations with them but they didn't like me and were antagonizing me to the point of being in tears from the start.. there was one particular waitress who the men would walk in and specifically ask for..like walk up and whisper in your ear..."put me at a----'s table, please"..it wasn't too big of a mystery why all the men asked for her.. and one particular waitress made a habit of throwing the menu's at me when she wanted them put back after being used...like walk by me and throw them over her shoulder and i would be trying to catch them all.. there was also alot of he-said-she-said bullcrap.

Well, I used to have a management job for a large established cold storage company. RIGHT after 9-11, they closed down, I was still feeling good about having such a good posisition. I went to an interview for an "advertisement" company. The interview went fabulous. The guy was telling me about how I'd get to travel, and meet great people. They invited me back for a second interview. At which point, the guy said he liked me so much he wanted he to go along with their "top executives" and learn what I may have the possabilty of doing.
So, I get in to a car with 3 strange men. We go to this upscale neighborhood. The job was door to door alarm sales. I was so PISSED. And, it brought back my pioneer days. I started crying in the middle of the street, refused to go to any houses with them, and demanded to be taken back to the office.
It only lasted 3 hours, but it was the WORST job EVER. I love my job now.

What do you think some posters look like?
by Bubbamar inits funny that when i imagine what other posters look like - i alway imagine them as attractive, fit, well groomed, with bright, shiny happy faces.
i never see them as obese, nerdy, or with greasy hair and warts and pimples.
their noses are never too big - no body has a "comb-over.

Well, I think Sally probably looks like a Hottie! And I used to think Valis looked like a Hottie, now I'm just picturing the albino hedgehog. One thing I DO know is that Agape_24 does NOT look like Bjork ;)

Swiss Cheese. Seriously. I will work out, ALL week, eat barely anything, then go grocery shoping and buy some swiss cheese, take it home, and eat the whole damned package. I just naturally eat VERY healthy, but Swiss Cheese, oh yeah, and Coors Light are my down fall.

Thanks Franklin for putting things in to a proper perspective, just had to add my two cents:
The glass ceiling; if not broken---will be very shortly.
At this moment Women make 70 cents to every Man's dollar. I experienced this first hand when I was working in the real estate business owned and opperated by men. A man who demands proper compensation for his skills is ambitious; a woman who demands proper compensation for her skills is a Bitch.
Btw, whoever said "when people ask 'were you an Elder or a Ministerial Servant', I say 'No, I 'm a woman' " I have to say AMEN!!
If I changed your diapers, and taught you how to read, don't you DARE tell me my skirt is too short, or I should spend more time in field service.
Apaga of the 'excuse me while I step outside to burn my bra' class :)
