JWs and breastfeeding past infancy
by rebel8 inmy jw mother breastfed my sibs so long they remember it.
one she stopped feeding when she went to kingergarten; i kid you not.
my mother justified it by saying moses' mother breastfed him until whatever age and the bible encourages it.

What would be on your 1.00 per day menu, and could you do it?
by SixofNine in.
imagine that you're givin the opportunity to win a substantial prize (say, 5000 dollars and a make-out session with angelina jolie or sam shepherd) if you can a) live for 60 days on one dollar per day, and b) retain your health better than other contestants.. ah, screw that, that's silly.
what would be your menu if you had to live on one dollar per day, and you could not accept free food?

oooooo, great question!! I actually pretty much had to do this when I first moved out. The coffee despenser at my work, also despensed chicken broth, $.30 for a cup. McDonalds used to have $.25 hamburger Tuesdays, so I'd buy $2.00 worth, and save them and eat them through out the week. Also, the 99 Cent Store has the imitation Top Ramen 20 for a $1.00. They didnt taste very good, but one could spice them up with parmesan cheese, and garlic. I was once soooo broke I ate Mustard for 3 days ;) It sounds like a sad story, and it was, I was SUPER thin and took vitamins everyday to make sure my cheap ass diet didn't make me sick.

FAMOUS JEHOVAH'S WITNESSES
by Outaservice in.
back in the 50's there was a world welterweight fighter from cuba named 'kid gavilin' that became one of jehovah's witnesses.
the society wanted to get a little mileage out of his fame and have him write his life story for the 'awake' magazine, but he was too 'punch drunk' to do so.. there is a web site all about famous jw's @ www.adherents.com/largecom/fam_jw.html where you can check out many more.. outaservice (too famous to mention)

I have met Damon Wayans on many occassions and asked him directly about his connection to the JWs. He does NOT consider himself a Jehovah's Witness, and was never baptized.

True that worked for you Farkel. Things get a bit complicated though when you're a single, female, turning in to adulthood. You're on your own for the first time with very little help. You're leaving the only world and life and people you've ever known. It can seem scary and over-whelming. Especially when at such a volatile time in your life, you want to be able to turn to your mother and family, and are pushed away instead. Chia, This will make you a MUCH stronger person, and make you wiser than those your age. I STILL deal with bitterness and anger I feel towards my mother and her Fake persona and lies. You know you're a good person. No one else can know the real you except you. And remember the Elders have absolutely NO authority over you. Take control of your own life. And take comfort in knowing that you are not the first, you wont be the last. There are plenty of us here that relate to you and understand how you're feeling.

I was an extra on an episode of Boy Meets World that Fred Savage directed 2. Fred Savage was in The Princess Bride with Robin Wright Penn 3. Robin Wright Penn was in Forrest Gump with Tom Hanks 4. Tom Hanks was in Apollo 13 with Kevin Bacon. 4 degrees for me :)

Sounds like a sorry excuse to me. Here in California there is a chinese food resturant that my co-workers like to frequent about twice a week. I can't eat Chinese food because it bothers my stomach. So on chinese food day, I go to the subway next door and bring it back. They eat their food, and I eat subway at the chinese place. No one has ever said anything to me about it.

I saw the episode of Punk'd where they had Serena driving this woman around who's 'nephew' took off in her SUV. I thought she handled herself wonderfully. I was really impressed. She seems like a very down to earth, good person.

I just wanted to add a bit more because I find the subject very interesting.Time as a measurement has always fascinated me The concept that I have heard involves a vessel that travels at the speed of light. You would have to take this light speed vessel out in to space. In the time that it would take you to reach a certain point in space and come back, it would have only been say one year of aging on your life, however when you returned to earth, twelve years would have past and all your friends and family would be twelve years older. Much like Back to the Future 2, but in a glorified version of the Delorean, time travel would not happen in the blink of an eye. In layman's terms as I understand it.
Time travel is indeed possible, on paper at least. The only minor technicality now, is designing and actually creating a vessle with the capability to travel at light speed for an extended period of time safely with a tangible life aboard. ;)
