What do Americans actually really know about???

what do americans in general actually really know about the big outside world outside of their own culture?.

it's certainly not just me, but for years since early childhood in fact, it has been commonly accepted by many, that americans in general are the biggest ignorant fools residing almost anywhere on the planet, yet they still do their damndest to have everyone believe what a great nation they are.

is it even beyond their comprehension how foolish they look often to the rest of the world, the fact that they have so little understanding of problems on the worldwide front?.

Maybe I'm just jealous of your culture, I agree the Brits and Europeans too can be fairly dumbassed too. Sure if I came to the States my opinions would change moderately, I don't doubt on the more personal level that you are all very decent people, but in policy decisions affecting other nations you do come across as dumb to say the least. Whats more, even the WT was started off in your wunnerful country, dumb by anyones stretch of the imagination!! OK, so I'm just being controversial, the real question I guess is, why is mankind so dumb, arrogant and stupid, why do all of us take decisions which represent the easy way out rather than facing up to all our combined problems with more responsibility? (I'm just as annoyed with my dumbass self, do not fret)

But Americans are funny, you do collectively ask for a piss take to be taken out of you. Would love to visit there one day, would be entertaining to say the least.

WORLDWIDE LETTER MAILED

on or about june 30, 2002, thousands of jehovah's witness elders around the world received a letter from "the worldwide .

christian community" urging them fully to take on their voluntary responsibility as "shepherds of the flock of god" .

with respect to child molestation that occurs among their "flock.

It was my impression given that this letter was not to be posted on this site at all.

Why therefore has this letter been published on this site, wasn't this supposed to have been kept quiet?

Increase / Decrease - Whats the Real Picture?

ok, we're all used to seeing the annual report in the yearbook etc of the societies so called increases in certain countries and lands.

is there any way to independently authenticate the wt claims as true or not?.

take 'hours' submitted in field service reports etc.

New California Drivers License test

for those of you who are not "fortunate" enough to live in california, here is a copy of the california driver's exam, and for those of you who do, study .

Actually, here in the UK, the sooner the introduction is made to switch policy from one driving test to one every five years the better. Lets face it, cars, in the wrong hands can be lethal machines. With the amount of dreadful drivers on the roads, especially those that cannot for some unfathomable reason, reverse first time into a small parking bay or get confused on roundabouts, simply put, they should not be driving on the public road in the first place. We're a small country with a massive overload in our transportation policies, I say, the more stringent the test the better. Get the bad drivers onto public transport and let the rest of us drive more safely as a result.

Terrorism in the UK

this past weekend i was watching a movie entitled "blown away.

" basically it's about a renegade ira bomber seeking revenge on a former compatriot who's fled to the us.

with relative ease, the "mad bomber" proceeds to blow up several people and sites in the city of boston.

Terrorism in the UK is carried out on an all together more subtle plane generally speaking. It is fact that to leverage most disruption need not nessarsarily take on the form of the most violent acts of aggression, however well understood and to a degree, sympathied with. No, in the UK, if you want to make headlines, you bring the whole country to a standstill by far more effective tools. Beyond that, I cannot say more for security reasons.

Take 'hours' submitted in field service reports etc. What ratio of the worldwide congregations publishers and pioneers 'deceive' truthfully the amount of hours preaching they actually put in? We understand the pressure, we did it ourselves once, but how many bend the actual figures, or put another way, what surrepticious devices did you employ to bump up your hours submitted?

Many other factual citations in behaviour I could prompt, but essentially, increase / decrease, whats going on really?

Hows you? And where's my blinkin astrology chart?!!

I started to read these two publications last night once I got to bed, hell, the language used is hard going. All the usual watch out there's demons about philosophy and the great conspiracy against God's only channel on earth, the need to trust His 'prophets', that they are not 'infallible or perfect' bumpth.

Whilst in essence I actually agree with some of the sentiments upon the higher spiritual planes, their manner of teaching this philosophy remains to me this day a complete mystery, its like their whole approach is wrong and not a few blatant errors are quite obviously apparent.

If only by nature the Society was truly transformative, then and only then, might I be tempted to listen possibly again to their message.

Are All Organized Religions Cults?

even though it has been years since i last stepped into a kingdom hall, it is only recently that i have accepted the idea that the jws are a cult.

the word cult has such a horrible connotation, i mentally reserved it for the most overtly offensive groups.

then, last evening, i went to mass with my husband.

Please pardon my directness, but I would venture not.

What is 'organised' religion anyway? Much of life needs some structure, whether belonging to an indigenous people in Papua New Guinea or to some larger Christian 'movement' within a Western country. Our skeptism of 'organised' structures certainly by no means implies that any faith based group that has some structure is cult based in it's defining activities. Many are just ordinary groups of people coming together under an umbrella desire to share their beliefs and uniqueness as individuals, believing in the simpler philosophies that enable others to carry on making their own imformed choices, how can these groups be defined 'cult' like? By which measuring yardstick are we to make such an assumption?

A cult clearly is any high control group of people that sets out to purposely adjust and/or manipulate the consciousness and understanding of an individual, exerting un-nessarsary influence so that that individual, unable to make their own spiritual choice in the matter, is made to defer or relinquish the personal decision making process over to the activities of the core group 'controllers'.

This certainly cannot be true of the majority out there, if it were so, grey overlapping boundaries would exist everywhere in life leading one to believe that everyone else, in all manner of the varied 'attributions' of life, has some sort of alternative agenda and motive, this quite simply is not the case in real time reality. To believe otherwise is to undermine your own issues of trust in others. But thats your choice.
