those poor children will now have to endure an even more bizarre and f***ed up chilhood than before.

Were you afraid to go to a bar?
by rebel8 insomeone who shall remain nameless (*cough*snowbird*cough) mentioned she has never been to a bar.. this shocks me.. i was remembering how terrified i was of going to a bar when i was exiting the mother ship.
i was looking for the lightning bolts to get me.
and it was a big nothing really.

Yes, I have been afraid to go to bars in the past. It made me feel dirty. But, my Bf and I went to a bar two nights ago for karaoke night. We were not too happy. Alot of people were obnoxiously drunk. We decided we don't really care for it. We would rather sit at home and have a beer around the campfire or watch a movie. Far less drama!!

I know that we have corresponded in some threads. I want you to know Flipper, and Mrs. Flipper that I am so happy for the first time in my life. I am 33 years old, and walked away from a religion that both sides of my family have been in for three and four generations. That makes me a 5th generation. But I have made my own family. I bought my first Fathers Day card for my surrogate dad. It was beautiful, and he cried.
My children ages 13 and 8 are more rounded than ever. Well...except my 13 year old flips off the K Hall whenever we pass by. We are working on Namesta with that child. My 8 year old is in a Little Miss pageant for our town.
Maybe all of this you have gathered in my posts. Glad to hear that you and Mrs Flipper are well. I enjoy your posts. Thanks!!

How many in your cong. became JW out of door-to-door preaching?
by Albert Einstein indoor to door is an essential way of preaching among jw, you cannot get baptized unles you join in door-to-door service, ..... but how many converts in your congregation in past 20 years came out of door-to-door preaching?
please deduct mentally handicaped and weirdos.. number for your congregation?.
mine could be 2, (mother with a teenage son), but they da shortly after baptism.. albert .

I can't think of hardly any post 1975 that came in via door to door minisrty. Pretty much everyone was born into it and brainwashed to stay.

Really?? I mean really? I am not stating my feelings on MJ, because I have no judgemental feeling on him. I wish he could rest in peace.
BUT...
If he does have a JW funeral, I will be PO'd. Two years ago I took my own life. Pretty much dead. They brought my kids in to say goodbye. By the grace of God I lived. I was told by the JW elders that I would NOT have had a JW funeral. I was a sinner. Okay, so suicide is a sin. But it is a sign of mental illness, no? How would I have been worse than him? I was a practicing JW!!!

No simplified study material for children?

why does not the watchtower society publish simplified material for parents to use in teaching their children bible truths?a question based upon frequent inquiries by readers.. .
...but from this we may not argue that the faithful and discreet slave class must publish special books for children.

Donny: I love it! Bravo and Thank you for pointing out that we can't just pick and choose which items we want to use according to the Bible, and which we don't. We also don't need MP3 Watchtower and Awakes, Watchtower Library on CD-Rom or recorded music.

Flipper: Thank you so much for your support! Actually everybody's story on hear has been just amazing. I am so happy to be leaving the org. I really am. Infact, I am thinking of going ahead, and writing my letter. It's been over a year for me since I have been associated with them. I want them to know that I REJECT THEM. I thought about it awhile. If they can announce to an entire congregation that they can disown a person, shouldn't I be able to put it in the local paper?
NOTICE: vikesgirl101 would like to announce that she is no longer associated with the JW organization. Pie and coffee will be served following the ceremony at the local VFW on July 4th after the parade.

Actually I am so happy now. My life has never been better. My blood family is just that, blood. They are not a family. I have made my own. I am so thankful for this forum. You guys are great! Hearing your stories makes me even happier about my decision.
