Did you participate in STREET WITNESSING in your area? What was it like?
by BonaFide inhere in southern california, the witnesses still do streetwork.
i did it since i was a kid.
i used to spend two hours every saturday morning from 7 to 9 am walking down the street near my house with my brother or sister.

What woke you up to the WTS?
by megaflower ini was in service one day and the sister i was working with said," i will start to enjoy life once the new system comes".
sirens went off in my head.
basically, she was saying she was miserable but would wait till the new system to have any happiness.

As my interest wanes............
by AK - Jeff inall things jw and xjw and even xxjw are beginning to bore me.
tonight, in an effort to stimulate my interest, i cruised back thru threads of the past month or so.
while i found a couple topics of mild interest, and a couple more in which i found it worth effort to make personal comment, i was mostly bored.. i have come to grips with my past religious history.

choosinglife: That is an ironic statement that you post about how we all went to different kingdom halls together. Remember how we would hear how people all over the world were discussing the same Watchtower? Or we would hear how 24 hours a day, 365 days a year jehovah's name was being sanctified literally day and night? Yet here we are, all together, with circumstances that have drawn us to a different light, as we all search for a path that we do not know.
And I do see the point about being an addict. I have been here six weeks, and have 170+ posts. That is like four posts a day. I need a hobby.

Jeff,
the prob with Pep is that he was inconsistant. I do believe Linehan was a good offensive line coach, but he got into Pep's head. He never was the same after that late hit in the end zone that injured him. He was, however, the last QB that was not afraid to take a chance. It just stopped paying off, as he was so unsure of himself.
I love, love, love AP. But he cannot run an entire team. Favre is too selfish to give up the ball to a dynamic RB, such as our very own "Purple Jesus".
Now that I have borderline dissected the politics of MN vikes, your team does not suck.

I think FHN made alot of excellent points about doctrinal issues. I can also relate to Jamie in a way, even though my ex husband was minorly abusive compared to what she went through. Mine was a tyrant who enjoyed being part of an organization that promoted women bowing down to him, but quickly lost interest when it stopped working for him.
I was severly annoyed by hearing that Christians should not wear denim to the meetings. Also, we are to dress at home or leisurely the way we would when we go to meetings. I was stumbled by a religion that would choose my fabric. This showed they want complete control. It led me to investigate their doctrinal controversies.
