  so i am reading my new favorite book "i'm perfect, you're doomed" and the flashbacks have started.

  this book is like my childhood all over again.

  anywho, it reminded me of the horror stories my parents would create.

  steve hassan mentions that the 2 main tactics mind control cults use to control people is " fear " and " guilt " .. definition of fear in the readers digest oxford dictionary : " an unpleasant emotion caused by exposure to danger , expectation of pain, etc.

  a state of alarm.

  anxiety for the safety of, danger, feel anxiety or apprehension about.

  I overdosed twice last year, due to guilt. I felt too unworthy to live. It makes me feel psychotic to think about it now. But I had to start seeing a therapist. She was initally leery of a JW client. But I stripped myself of all the things that were making me mentally sick. I was better without meds. My husband was a controller, and the borg, well they were always what they have been. But I pulled away from all that and started fresh. My therapist told me to look into recovering JW's. It was great to find others JUST LIKE ME: struggling. Then one day it hit me that I apologize for everything. I stopped that. Some things are beyond my control. I had to realize that. The guilt still lingers, but I have a second voice now that tells me to move forward, and not look back. I think it is my confidence being born.

  minnesota has a policy that if you have been nailed for too many dwi's, they give you what are called "whiskey plates".

  this is a license plate that starts with a big fat "w", so everybody knows you are a lush.

  yesterday, as i driving to the mall, i see a wheelchair van with whiskey plates.

  So I am reading my new favorite book "I'm perfect, you're doomed" and the flashbacks have started. This book is like my childhood all over again. Anywho, it reminded me of the horror stories my parents would create. To get us kids to sit still at the meetings, my mom would say "Remember what happened to Lot's wife when she looked back, and did not look straight ahead?"

  My question is this: Did other parents have strange ways of making you abide by their rules like mine did? If so, what did they say/do?

  so i have been seeing this great "worldly" guy for about 8 months.

  he has been married twice, and i have been married once for 13 years.

  we both had bad marital experiences.
