some of the memorable moments today would be:.
1) the nutty mother on stage with her little boy who became an unbaptized publisher at 6. i missed his current age, but he was a tiny little kid, couldn't be much older than a couple years over 6. tomorrow he gets baptized.
2) the husband and wife couple who work part-time to pioneer, but wanted to do more so they sold their home, down-sized to one car and made other adjustments to make their lives more simple to put the kingdom first.
I think that acceptig credit cards is highly irresponsible. Debit cards connected to a current (checking account) I can accept as thats like cash but encouraging people to get into debt!!!
my parents are just back from a convention in the usa but they've not started to go on about it yet.........i dread to think what they'll go on about
a good friend of mine was df'd this week.
he did so much for this organization.
as an accomplished musician and composer, he has contributed so much over the years.his work is in most of the homes of an avg jw.

yeah, i hated "field circus".
i don't like bothering people on saturday mornings about the latest watchtower & awake magazines and try to convert them from their religon to become a jehovah's witness.
so, what i did was just wait until the group passes by and fake knocked.
My city had loads of flats with intercoms. Lots hated talking into them so it was easy to volunteer to do all the buzzing. As you couldn't hear a ring it was so easy to fake! Ahhh, those were the days......
we all know that about 40% or more jw suffer from some form of depression.
we also know that a large % of jw drink alcohol which also cause depression.
therefore we now have some realy secewed up jw.
I was raised a JW and suffered depression in my early 20s. It was connected to my "friends" all getting hooked-up and married and then having nothing to do with me as I no longer fitted in with them.
I've got family members who also suffer from depression and I'm convinced that it comes from the holier than thou attitude that is so prevalent within. if you are constantly being told that you can and should do better then no wonder people start to get depressed over it!
i have just been visited by two local jws who had heard i had moved into the area and wanted to say hello.. i'm going to be having words with my parents later as they are the only people who could have given out my name and address.. they were ok with me.
i explained that i had been let down in the past by witnesses and that being a jw wasn't for me.
any idea what will happen next?
I realise that now. They caught me unaware - didn't expect a visit.
I'll speak to my parents tomorrow about it. They know that I don't want to go back and I'm really annoyed with them for giving out my address.
I'll have to be better prepared in future but the answer is I don't want to be a JW anymore. I thought that by moving to a new place it would be easier to fade - may not be so easy now......

They were "regulars" but I suspect that he was an elder or ms. They were a young married couple who had been asked to pay me a visit.
Yes I was baptised but stopped going to meetings regularly about a year ago and then completely at around xmas. Was never a die hard JW but kept going anyway. got sick of hypocrisy with elders spouting rubbish about love when I never saw any in the cong.
If I ever get asked the question do i still want to be known as a jw I'll say no which means that I'm DAing myself. I really don't want to go that purely because of my parents.

Thats what I'm hoping for. If I get hauled into a JC I'll be Df'd which would destroy my parents and I'm trying to avoid that desperatley.

They were ok with me. I explained that I had been let down in the past by Witnesses and that being a JW wasn't for me. Any idea what will happen next? They just left it at if I ever wanted to go to a meeting then I was more than welcome. No attempt was made to leave any magazines etc with me or anything about the DC coming up shortly.
i found it so interesting to see what information is held about you at the branch office, if you are or were an appointed man.. for instance.
name, address, date of birth, date of baptism, all dates where you have been an elder, ms etc, all the congs you have been appointed in.
s2 forms, letters of introduction scanned and available to read.
Interesting.
I wonder if its the same in the UK due to the data protection act. I recall we stopped using the house to house records the S8 when that came in as we were recording information about householders.
Although, after listening to some of the rubbish over the years I wonder why on earth they would mark speakers! Only proves its an old boys network when it comes to getting items.

i am 49 years old, will be 50 in october .
28 but I feel much younger in many respects probably in part to do with JW upbringing ;-)
