Was the Circuit Oversear treated like "a god" in your Congregation!!!
by Witness 007 inmany ass kissers would put their name down so they could have him over for dinner......"okay now, they can't eat milk products, red meat, white meat, flour, sugar, salt, water...." .

lol yes! i'm sure those ass holes loved it... in what other religon could window cleaners and uneducated morons be worshipped?!
I know of one CO whose wife insisted on standing over the person cooking the meal to make sure that nothing was used that she didn't approve of. She actauly made the sister throw the meal away mid cooking after examing a tin of somthing that had been used and found it contained trace elements of something she didn't approve of!
And no, this wasn't the case of an actual allergic problem, this was a JW allergic problem... you know the type... As has been stated before.. can't eat : wheat, dairy, caffine, sugar, anything dried, tap water, bottled water and anything with the letter "E" in its name!!!

I was so quick to attritbute good things to god, rather than my own doing. bad things came from saturn, never my own mistakes or misfortune. I used to feel calm after having prayed and feel that it was god comforting me. But i now belive that it was just all in my own head. The small comforts a brain washed cult member relays apon to get them through the day.

Were you told to avoid telling HH's that they would be killed unless they listened?
by highdose inone of the many things as a child growing up as a jw that i never understood was this: a elderette told me her husband would be going to see the non jw freind of one of their sons.
it seems that the freind had directly challenged the jw son and asked " are you telling me that if i don't become a jw that god will kill me?".
the son hadn't known what to say to this, bearing in mind of course that the jw belief is "yes you will die at armargeddon if you don't become a jw".

Because Jambon, and this is what i thought as a child: it is moraly correct to tell someone the truth about what your peddling. Anything else is mis selling. I was never comfortable with the JW way of soft soaping the bible studies and protecting them from the hasher rules of the borg untill they had been safely baptised and couldn't get away.
But them the cult has never been moraly correct has it?!

Something is up, just got invited back
by Brocephus inokay, i have read some posts about new efforts to "reach out" something is up.
my elder dad who entered a "cease fire" with me about a decade ago on the topic of religion reached out for the first time since.
he specifically invited me to the kh and bragged about the memorial attendance, the end is surley near....etc.. etc.... .

mad sweeny: that would be a nice thought, but i strongly suspect that by 2014 the old doctrine of 1914 will have been safely buried by the GB. I can see it becoming yet another 1975, where it happened but the GB claim otherwise and the dubs happily nod their empty heads in agreement.

Define "Ex jw"?
by highdose ininspired from another current thread.
i note some people are asking if they are allowed to participate in a questionaire for ex jw's if they are just fading or have not been df'd?.
my own situation is this: tecnicaly i am a jw, baptised as a young tweeny and never reproved, df'd or da'd.

My own situation is this: Tecnicaly i am a JW, baptised as a young tweeny and never reproved, df'd or Da'd. But i consider myself to be a EX- JW because in myself i know i'm not one anymore. I'm not going to allow myself to be DF'd or DA'd purely because it would break my cover in the land that i've since emigrated to. A land where no one knows about my former life and where i have the freedom to tell the local JW's to f*** off like all the other locals do, without fear of punishment from the elders. also theres no way i would allow them to condem me like that, i do not consider that they have the right.
Likewise my view would be those are trying to fade, they are doing this because they are no longer JW's in their heart. They fade purely as a way to avoid trouble with the JW cult and their familes.
I think you are either a JW in your heart or your not.
Thats my view at least, whats yours?

Occasionaly world events like 9/11, 7/7 and the recent earthquakes give them fodder for beliving that their end ( and yours) is near. Give it another year of the big A not happening and it will die down.

guys, when you were JW's did you feel sorry for the subjugated sisters?
by highdose inin my cong i could name more than half the brothers who seemed to revel in squashing the sisters back into the door mat where they belonged.
nothing personaly irrated me more than being treated like a lower form of life simply because i didn't have a penis!.
but i never saw any brothers make a stand, or try to treat the sisters better.

Hence they were sending round an elder to "deal with it". The elderette admitted to me that course they would have to be told they would die, but " we don't like to tell people that do we?"
Was this a one off, or did you find JW's uncomfortable and wanting to skirt around this issue?
