those stupid sister talks!
by highdose inam just remembering the awful headache that came with having to put say " how do we know that mary was a virgin?
" subject matter , into a "first call" setting with a " work on gestures" ... all together into a script that would kinda make sense!!
all in 5 mins with at least 2 scriptures used, both of which normaly seemed to have nothing to do with the subject matter!.

sorry just a late night rant... but i'm sure i'm not the only one?

At least the WT is upfront about their use of mind control
by Mickey mouse ini am currently reading take back your life: recovering from cults & abusive relationships: recovering from cults and abusive relationships.
the writers prefer to use the term "thought reform" rather than "mind control" to refer to the process employed by cult leaders to hold their membership captive.. it suddenly struck me that when an individual is thought to be "straying from the path", elders attempt to "readjust their thinking" aka reform their thoughts.
i had never thought of it like that before.. .

anyway what i mean to say is: this is a great site, full of amazing eye opening debates that really do help JW's and ex JW's alike. Recently its become about just certain people alone. I'd love to see us all move on from this and when i wake up tomorrow and log in, ... i'd love to see pages of those great debates and infomation once again! So how about it???

on the precipice of imminant disarster
by highdose inwhen i once went to my dr about panic attacks i was having he told me that he wasn't surprised because as he said, " youv'e lived your whole life on the precipice of imminant disarter".
i didn't understand what he meant at the time, now i do.
he meant that the strain of living ones life beliving that the whole world is about to end and possibly you with it ( if you havn't been doing enough for jehovah, and lets face it, your never doing enough) is too much for the human mind to cope with.

Of course it will have consequences like panic attacks and mental disorders!
the JW's claim that they give people "good news", when actualy its a recipie for total misrable life!
dos anyone else remember the many ones with fear of crowds/ large spaces, panic attacks, depression... who just couldn't seem to find a reason for it? They mostly blamed it on "this system of things" when the real reason is... is the JW's and the way they make you think

Why do apostates never go back to the JW's?
by highdose inthis was a question i can remember asking as a child.
i never got a satisfatory answer ( you think that might have set alarum bells ringing but there you are) the answer i got was " apostates belive werid things... they are out to destory your faith!
" which didn't seem to make too much sense.

For any lurkers here asking the same question, here is the real answer... Apostates never go back, because they have found out that its all false! And why would you go back to somthing thats false???!
