Re: Chalam's post - - "For God so loved the world....." That is to say WORLD, which means everybody, not a limited number of people, but ALL people, all humankind whom God loves. Just some good old common sense should make this clear to Jehovah's Witnesses, if the WTBTS wasn't feeding the poor 'rank and file' a bunch of warped and twisted teachings. Excuse me while I bang my head against a wall.

How many of you knew about the"Jesus is not your Mediator" teaching when you were JWs??
by Lady Liberty inhi everyone.... just curious how many of you knew when you were active, about the societys official teaching regarding jesus the mediator.
i was floored to find in my research, that they teach jesus is the mediator for the 144,000 only.
and it is only by our association with them that we might have salvation.. i don't know about you guys but i was blown away when i learned they taught this.

I'm not sure, but it seems like the WTBTS taught us that Jesus didn't die for all mankind; He just died for the 144,000. Therefore, He was a mediator only for the annointed. Disgusting when you think that everyone who goes to the Memorial actually has a right to partake. EVERYONE. And all the 'rank and file' do is pass along the bread and wine like little sock puppets. That's not a religion. It's a sham!

Wow, I am impressed with the mature way you handled your situation when you were so young, and I admire you very much. Your videos were very well done, I think, because you are very articulate and you expressed yourself so well. Was it ever hard to be so diplomatic with your parents about everything? I don't know if I could have stood going into a Kingdom Hall once I no longer believed in the Witnesses' religion. The idea of going into a Kingdom Hall almost makes me feel sick - - all those toxic teachings. What precisely led you to be an atheist? Also, when you called Jeptha's daughter a 'bitch', why did you refer to her with that term? It's such a derogatory word, and I can't see what she did to deserve being called that. She seemed like the quintessential dutiful daughter, no matter what her fate might be. So sad. Anyway, I think you did your videos very well - - hope you do more.

Russian JWs in Serious Trouble - about to be banned
by Dogpatch inalthough it has been leading up to this for a long time, it appears russia has made up their mind to get rid of "extremist" groups by banning them, and jws are pretty much at the top of the list.
the last few years under putin they have been giving them heaps of trouble.. .
i am not for bans as it usually backfires, but under the "new" admnistration it looks like hard-core responses are in order.

I agree with Besty that it might be far more effective to have a government based information program on Jehovah's Witnesses. The WTBTS has its own ways of persecuting the 'rank and file'. I think the public should be educated about these things.

I think that the Jehovah's Witnesses' version of God, as taught them by the WTBTS, is so different from what God truly is, what He is truly like. This makes God ('Jehovah') seem like a rigid taskmaster, and He isn't. That is why He sent Jesus to us. I think that God loves us very much and wants us to be happy; He wants the best for us. As far as as a "stupid" comment at a Watchtower meeting, it wasn't really so much stupid as ignorant. A child said that children are born, (made, conceived) because of their fathers, with a little help from the mothers (nine months worth). Well, I suppose that was pretty funny, but I can't help wondering just how much JWs know about genetics, genomes, mitochondria, and so forth, because half of the 48 chromosomes that make babies comes from the fathers and the other half come from the mothers. It's 50/50, by gummy! And the mitochondria is passed down through the mothers, the females. Anyway, I wonder where this little boy got his information. His elder dad? Well, the sperm and the egg work together to conceive a baby. I think that JWs should be set straight about this. Grr.

I told my JW sister that I don't feel comfortable with calling God Jehovah. To me, personally, it feels disrespectful to call God Jehovah. It feels disrespectful, as it would feel to address my parents by their first names, rather than mom and dad, or mother and father. They have both passed away, but if they were alive I could never call them by their personal names. It wouldn't feel right. And I know that Jesus called God His Father, as in the prayer He shared with the apostles, "Our Father, who art in heaven"..... He didn't refer to Him as Jehovah, but as Father. That is how I personally view God, as our Heavenly Father. I know that people are disagreeing with each other here, are not always in tune with each other, but that is a poor basis, at least I think, for people to call each other names, to get hostile with each other. Agreeing to disagree is an option to that. A peaceful option that doesn't hurt anyone. I don't know myself what is the correct way to say God's name, but I wouldn't call Him His name in prayer, because I would feel that I am not showing Him true honor, respect, and worship by doing so. This is where I stand on the issue, anyway. I am not looking for a confrontation; I just wanted to express my two cents worth. Thanks.

It is not God who is the lowlife. The lowlife principles directing the 'rank and file' come from the WTBTS. The governing body directs the Jehovah's Witnesses, not God. The WTBTS twists everything and manipulates everyone into believing who knows what. It's crazy, and it misleads and misdirects the 'rank and file' into believing God wants such and such and doesn't want such and such from them. it is nuts! How can JWs know if they are coming or going? This religion is a shipwreck. I just want so much for it to implode and for all the passengers on this moldy old ship to be free. If only everyone could see through all the nonsense that is being shoveled down their throats by this 'religion'. Ugh!

LaidOff Bethelites: Weeping And Gnashing of Teeth
by metatron indon't let any of the watchtower's propaganda deceive you.
i encountered some private conversations among witnesses about the subject and it's ugly.
yes, there is suffering as many of these victims try to live on charity and can't find jobs in the worst economy since the depression.. some of their private observations include shock that you need a college degree for nearly any job and that the watchtower society couldn't have picked a worse time to do this to them .. all the while these complaints are discussed, i try not to show that i am astounded by their bizarre "logic".

I know that the people who go to Bethel are responsible for their choice to do so, and that ultimately they "made their own beds, so they have to sleep in them", but, by gummy, their expectations when they have been going to Bethel, their goals, hopes, and dreams when they go there are admirable. They really believe they are going to be serving God, and it ends up that they are being pulled around with rings in their noses by the governing body, by the WTBTS, to serve whom - - why the organization, that's whom! And it is disgusing what is expected of these people, and it is disgusting how they are treated. They become servants of an organization that is really no more than a glorified book publishing company, a pyrimid company, and a huge commune. It is nauseating to think about all the lives that have been wasted at Bethel, all the lives wasted by all Jehovah's Witnesses who have given of themselves, sincerely and genuinely given of themselves to this selfish, greedy cult. And I mean it is literally nauseating. What a waste of so many, many, many beautiful lives based on their being misled by the WTBTS. How very, very sad.

I feel so bad for people who have been in Bethel. By the time they leave this commune/corporation they must feel pretty much dumbstruck, numb. What a life people must live there. I feel for anyone and everyone who has ever been or felt stuck there! Metatron, I think you have made really good observations and comments. Thank you! The one really good thing this religion excels at is ruining people's lives! Keeping people from going to college and pursuing their potentials is a dirty rotten thing to do to them! Billy the Ex-Bethelite, I hope that someday, when you feel ready that you will share your story.
