Hi, Oceanblue, I am so glad you are out of that horrible sham of a religion! You are much better off now. And see, you have so-called "worldly" friends who really and truly care about you and who check on you. Their love for you is totally unconditional. They are truer friends than your JW friends were! Also, you are young yet, so you can achieve your potential and accomplish so much! I think your no longer being a Jehovah's Witness is the best thing that ever happened to you!! Please keep coming back here and corresponding with us, and please continue your journey of self-discovery. Explore who you are! And enjoy getting to know yourself! I am so glad that you are happy now that you are totally aware that the "truth" of the Jehovah's Witnesses is not really the truth at all! It's one big fallacy with a few facts thrown in to confuse people into believing this "religion" is true. Well, hogwash!

i'm afraid I couldn't face reading all of this post, though I appreciate it being sent. It's just that it is such a sickening, nauseating, aand depressing message from the WTBTS to Jehovah's Witnesses. The Watchtower organization is not normal. It is unnatural to harbor such hateful, unkind thoughts and feelings toward disfellowshipped people. I could only read so much of this post and no more. What horrible teachings the WTBTS passes on to the elders to teach the poor "rank and file"! It's inexcusable, so cold and callous. The "Governing Body" comes across as so indifferent to the sufferings of those they assume power over. This authority is not real. It is just so-called authority. I just want everybody to get out of this sham of a religion!! I care so much about the people. It is just that their "religion" is sick!

If animals are going to become vegetarians or vegans, then I can't help worrying about cats. They have to eat meat or they'll die. Cats cannot survive on a vegetarian diet. Would God change how their digestive systems work or what? This new system thing is hard to make sense of, and it is just so cold, cold, cold that Witnesses talk about houses they're going to take over and live in after Armageddon! I have heard some Witnesses say the most heartless things, even out in service where JWs supposedly show lots of agape love and caring to "worldly" people. If that was so, then why were they saying such unkind things?!

Did You WANT To Talk To Disfellowshipped People?
by minimus indid you at least want to say "hi"?
or did you avoid them like the plague?.

I couldn't ignore anyone who'd been disfellowshipped. I just had to greet them - - it didn't feel right not to. I would have felt cold and callous had I not said hi. Besides, I was no angel. How could I possibly shun anyone?

There was the time a young man sprayed mace at a pioneer sister and me - - supposedly it was mace, and it didn't hit our faces. But, it sure scared us! Then there was the time a circuit overseer was unkind to me. For some reason I was the only sister who went out in service that day. There were two brothers as well as the circuit overseer out in service. When we got to the territory the overseer told the brothers to work together and that he would work house over house with them. Then he wheeled quickly around and pointed across the street and told me to work that block. The whole block! By myself. So, with my tail tucked between my legs I meeklly and oh, so mildly went across the street and tried to work the block alone. I don't think I would let anyone treat me like that these days, but back then I didn't think i had a choice. Besides, I was just so timid then. Now I think the guy was being a jerk. I know there were sisters he would have been happy to work with, to support and encourage, but I guess I just wasn't one of those popular sisters or pioneers. My husband and I both could have used encouragement. Eventually things worked out well for my husband. He became an elder. However, I wish with all my heart and soul that I had never tried to get him to study with the Witnesses. Boy, oh, boy, do I ever! He really got hooked in! I am so glad I am out of that cult! Anyway, i don't know why the cicrcuit overseer treated me like dirt. I just wish that then I'd had the self-confidence and self-esteem that I have now. I could have stood up for myself somehow or gone across the street and asked a householder to call a cab for me, so that I could leave. Then I could have waved bye-bye when the taxi drove past the circuit overseer. Everybody - - EVERYBODY should be treated with dignity and respect. I didn't know I'd be the only sister who showed up for service. I don't know what the overseer's deal was, but what a turkey!

How many of you knew about the"Jesus is not your Mediator" teaching when you were JWs??
by Lady Liberty inhi everyone.... just curious how many of you knew when you were active, about the societys official teaching regarding jesus the mediator.
i was floored to find in my research, that they teach jesus is the mediator for the 144,000 only.
and it is only by our association with them that we might have salvation.. i don't know about you guys but i was blown away when i learned they taught this.

Re: Chalam's post - - "For God so loved the world....." That is to say WORLD, which means everybody, not a limited number of people, but ALL people, all humankind whom God loves. Just some good old common sense should make this clear to Jehovah's Witnesses, if the WTBTS wasn't feeding the poor 'rank and file' a bunch of warped and twisted teachings. Excuse me while I bang my head against a wall.

I'm not sure, but it seems like the WTBTS taught us that Jesus didn't die for all mankind; He just died for the 144,000. Therefore, He was a mediator only for the annointed. Disgusting when you think that everyone who goes to the Memorial actually has a right to partake. EVERYONE. And all the 'rank and file' do is pass along the bread and wine like little sock puppets. That's not a religion. It's a sham!

Wow, I am impressed with the mature way you handled your situation when you were so young, and I admire you very much. Your videos were very well done, I think, because you are very articulate and you expressed yourself so well. Was it ever hard to be so diplomatic with your parents about everything? I don't know if I could have stood going into a Kingdom Hall once I no longer believed in the Witnesses' religion. The idea of going into a Kingdom Hall almost makes me feel sick - - all those toxic teachings. What precisely led you to be an atheist? Also, when you called Jeptha's daughter a 'bitch', why did you refer to her with that term? It's such a derogatory word, and I can't see what she did to deserve being called that. She seemed like the quintessential dutiful daughter, no matter what her fate might be. So sad. Anyway, I think you did your videos very well - - hope you do more.

Russian JWs in Serious Trouble - about to be banned
by Dogpatch inalthough it has been leading up to this for a long time, it appears russia has made up their mind to get rid of "extremist" groups by banning them, and jws are pretty much at the top of the list.
the last few years under putin they have been giving them heaps of trouble.. .
i am not for bans as it usually backfires, but under the "new" admnistration it looks like hard-core responses are in order.

I agree with Besty that it might be far more effective to have a government based information program on Jehovah's Witnesses. The WTBTS has its own ways of persecuting the 'rank and file'. I think the public should be educated about these things.
