I don't know if it's been said, but I think the fact that children were involved is irrelevant. Say the exact same situation happened except that instead of children, the woman told FHN that her adult friends were sitting in all of those chairs and would at some point be returning to them. It is unfair for a group of people to monopolize a public space when they're not even currently occupying it. How she was raising her children has nothing to do with it. Lack of kindness and respect to neighbors is the issue at hand.

As long as we're discussing translations, I recently picked up a Holman Christian Standard Bible. I'd be interested in any comments on that, too.

I don't know how to embed a video but I can make it an active link.
I couldn't watch more than a minute of this. Someone who is no longer a JW herself calling others out for abandoning the teachings. Hypocritcial much? Her reasoning seems to be, "My life as a JW didn't bother me so your life as a JW shouldn't bother you." Because we all know that each individual's experience is equal to any other individual's experience.
EDIT: Hey, what do you know? An active link makes video appear.

Since leaving the witnesses....
by LouBelle inmy life has been an absolute joy.
i didn't realise how unhappy i was and how much tension, angst and animosity i actually carried around with me when in that faith - it was always us against them, with regards to everything.
i wasn't allowed to just be myself, to be free to express myself - and by that i don't mean being sexually immoral, drinking and passing out...i just mean plain and simple me laughing, joking, sleeping in, playing sports, healty compition, buy a gift for my mother on mothers' day, celebrating a birthday of someone i love (all those beautiful little things that make a person unique you know).. my life now is free, happy, mostly full of joy and peace.

I had one of those discussions this weekend - Am I getting anywhere?
by BonaFide inlast week during bible highlights, a sister commented on leviticus 19:28 about not having a tattoo.
i also commented, saying that we are not under the law, but the principle should be taken into consideration.. a sister i don't speak with very often called me.
she is in the same congregation as some of my family.

john 10 and the wts
by logic inreading john 10 really explains who the real sheppard is.
the wts uses verse 16 freely but ignores the rest.
i like verses 10-13. it describes.

I know it's been a while since you posted this, but I wanted to let you know that it did not go unread.
You're right, vs. 10-13 do sound like WTS.
I was in the b0rg when the new understandings about the anointed and generation came out. I caught them but it seemed like very few others did. They sure know how to sneak that crap by everyone, don't they?

What did you dream about doing in the "New System"?
by lurk3r inlife in the new system, did you give it much thought?
sure, we would be brought to perfection, and there would be a resurrection, but how about other things?.
in my years growing up and living as a jw, i never really thought about it that much.

I was going to develop travel to other planets. I figured since God didn't make the whole earth a paradise, he wanted humans to turn it into one, that the same would go for the rest of the universe.
