When I started to question the JWs, I started to question EVERYTHING. If I had come to a community like this and focused more on scriptural arguments against the witnesses, I may have remained a theist. Working things out on my own through critical thinking led me to believe that an Abrahamic God is unlikely.

It's Amazing!
by whathehadas init's amazing to me how many of the exjws no longer believe in god.
i know some of you have many reasons to believe in what you do now.
but this is a big testimony to what the wts does to people's concept of god.

As a young boy I daydreamed a lot. My daydreams were imaginary worlds I made up in my mind that had nothing to do with the beliefs of
Jehovah's Witnesses. That's pretty much how I dealt with the mind killing boredom at the meetings and sometimes at school too.
I did this all the time. My mother did this, too, and for years she was wracked with guilt for not being able to keep from daydreaming. I'm so glad she got out with me.

I wasn't sacred of Armageddon. I knew I would live through it. In fact, I thought it was going to be so cool to watch it happen!
On that note, I was also a hugely arrogant brat who thought I was better than everyone else both in and out of the Dubs.

unique deathless generation---we were soooo special....
by oompa inmillions now living will never die!
(i sure heard this a lot over the years).....what a mindfluck!
!...i was spoonfed this from the birth, but you must feel really stoopid if bought into this as an adult and joined this outfit.....(let me know, cause i would feel stoopid and feel stoopid for not walking in 1995 when they decided the the generation of 1914 was not a real generation)....notice they continue this mindfluck teaching even after 1995....oompa.

In one of the Star Trek movies, Captain Picard says something about time catching up with us all. Riker responsds, "Speak for yourself, sir. I plan to live forever." I always liked that line because I thought it applied to me as well. I'm still young, and the concept that I will most definitely die is a sobering one. I can't imagine coming to that realization at a much later stage in life.
As a Witness, I knew that I could die in accident or of a disease at any time, but I didn't really think that would happen. It's typical of young people to feel that death only happens to other people. Sometimes I have difficulty coming to terms with it.

Hi, Ironhill. I'm glad you have someone in your life to share your feelings and opinions with. It definitely makes it easier. Now you have a whole lot more people to share with. Welcome.

I spent a few minutes holding each of them tonight. The biggest has some kind of huge lump in the center of his eyeball. Definitely taking them to somebody tomorrow.

I have no derogatory remarks to offer you. Has someone been picking on you? Would you like me to go and take and lay the smack down on somebody?
You do what you feel is right for you and your circumstances. I wish you all the best.

I will copy and past my info on this question.
When Jesus inspected the Watchtower Society in 1919, what did he find?
"On inspecting the remnant of his anointed disciples in the year 1919 C.E., the reigning King Jesus Christ did find the appointed “slave” faithful and discreet in the feeding of his “domestics.” Accordingly, he appointed this “slave” class over all his belongings.”" God’s Kingdom of a Thousand Years Has Approached pp.350,355
What did Jesus find during his inspection?
They predicted that Armageddon would occur in 1914 and 1918, respectively.—[ Zion's Watch Tower 1894 July 15 p.226 W 10/1/17 p.292,293]
President C.T. Russell was teaching pyramidology and astrology .—[ Watchtower 1922 June 15 p.187; Zion's Watchtower 1905 October 1 p.293 ]
They celebrated Christmas, New Years and birthdays. —[ Zion's Watch Tower 1904 December 1 p.364; Watchtower 1940 Jan 1 p.16]
They prayed for victory in war and honored the flag .—[ Watchtower 1918 June 1 p.174; Watch Tower 1917 May 15]
They taught that the white race was superior and blacks could change their skin color in the new system.—[ Watchtower July 15 1902 p.215; Watchtower 1904 February 15 pp.52-53]
They worshipped Jesus .—[1945 yearbook]
They accepted blood transfusions .—[ Consolation 1940 December 25 p. 19]
They served in the military.— [ Zion's Watch Tower 1898 Aug. 1 p.231 (see also jv p.191)]
If the teachings were correct in 1919, when Jesus chose the Watch Tower Bible & Tract Society, Jesus would have to abandon them now because their belief system is totally reversed.
If the teachings are correct now, they were therefore wrong then, so on what basis would the Watchtower Society have been chosen?

I plan to talk to the SPCA about it tomorrow. We're not going to keep them. But they are adorable.
I have temporarily named them. The feisty one that keeps slapping his siblings is Shake. The sleepy, slow one is Meatwad and the alert, intelligent looking one is Frylock. (For those who don't know, it's from Aqua Teen Hunger Force.) My mother thinks these are horrible names and is determined to call them by some girly, frou-frou names like Winkin', Blinkin' and Nod.

Welcom Dragon-Samo,
Under the forum title on the main page you'll see the phrase: "The place to discuss anything relating to Jehovah's Witnesses and the WatchTower Bible and Tract Society... or just make new friends!"
There are witnesses, ex-witnesses and non-witnesses on this site. Consider What the Watchtower Society says in its publications:
"We need to examine not only what we personally believe, but also what is taught by any religious organization with which we may be associated … if we are lovers of the truth, there is nothing to fear from such an examination." Truth, pg. 13
Awake, 10/22/1973, pg 6, "Reasonable persons agree that the only fair method is to examine the evidence on both sides, both for and against a disputed theory. That is how one arrives at the truth."
Wt, 11/15/63, pg 688, 689, "It is not a form of religious persecution for anyone to say and show that another religion is false. Why should anyone practice a religion unless he is convinced that it is true and right?"
You will see a lot of comments from people who do not feel that the Watchtower Society is teaching the truth on this site. If you have been raised as a Witness, like I was, this is a good oportunity to understand your religion from another point of view. If you disagree with these people, look at it as an oportunity to to figure out how to better witness to people who have a negative view of your religion.
I recommend sticking around a while and reading the comments, even if you disagree with what you see. Feel free to post about your beliefs and opinions. Many of us enjoy a good discussion/debate. There are a lot of crazy, fun people here to make friends with.
Nice to meet you
