I reached out and often got smacked back down. I don't have a penis, so I wasn't elligible for most privileges. Between being single, then being married to a loser, I wasn't elligible for even more privileges. But I auxilliaried as much as I could. I offered to do substitute talks but wouldn't be given any and would go years at a time without being given parts on the school of my own, despite asking repeatedly to be given them. I always volunteered to do stuff at assemblies and was told I wasn't needed.

Did You Reach Out For "Privileges"?
by minimus inas one who grew up "in the truth", i recognized that the most important goal i could ever have was "to be used" in jehovah's service (aka the organization).
when i was a kid i pioneered every summer for at least one month, sometimes more.
i was the timekeeper for the theocratic ministry school as a child.

Blue Grass why do you think my comment was stupid? I was one of those witnesses who wanted to get married because I really wanted to have sex. So was my ex-husband, or so we both thought. Until we actually had sex and he realized the experience doesn't have much in common with the pornos he liked to watch. He learned that he didn't like sex while I learned that I did. If I knew that's how he would be before marrying, I wouldn't have done it.

Agree with Blues Brother. When I was young we had some awesome COs. Most of them had a really good sense of humor. It's like they were higher up on the totem pole so they weren't afraid to be lively. The last few COs were dull in their speaking skills and cruel in their interactions with individuals.

Insane (but tragic) floor mats/car safety story -
by JWoods ini don't know how legitimate - we do not yet have a good link - but here it is: (from a car forum i go to) -.
heard on the radio today,a loaner lexus crashed ,killing 4 on board, driver was an off duty cop, going 120+ into an intersection hit an other car, driver was on phone with 911 ,were he said no brakes[witnesses said fire was coming out of the wheels, like driver had brakes full on],prelim says dealer installed floormats jammed gas pedal on,,car had no ignition key just a pushbutton start,,sad, but my only thought is why didn't he put the shifter into nuetral ?.
most of the california posters seem to be believing that this is the real thing.

I'm a little confused about what happened here, but it reminds me of something that happened to me: I drove someone else's car and almost rolled out into traffic because I couldn't get the brake to go down--one of the floor mats had gotten shoved back and rolled up under the pedal. I was able to pull it out in time. Ever since then, I always make sure my mats stay in place.

Do You Really Trust The Police?
by minimus inin the local paper there are 2 different towns that are dealing with possible police misconduct.
one situation involves thousands of dollars worth of pot stolen from the police locker where the drugs were supposed to be safe.
now the feds and state are involved in finding out who was responsible for the theft.

I trust the police as far as I can throw them . . . uphill . . . against the wind.
Which is not to say that all of them or even a majority of them are bad. But since, as we are so fond of point out on this board, it is impossible to read anothers heart, I'm not going to place myself in a vulnerable position with them.

If your enemy is hungry, feed him.
If he is thirsty, give him something to drink.
For in so doing you will be heaping fiery coals on his head."

Thoughts on Daily Text: Jas 3:15
by yknot intext fortuesday,september22, 2009. .
tuesday, september 22. this is not the wisdom that comes down from above, but is the earthly, animal, demonic.
jas.3:15.. the disciple james called the attitudes of jealousy and contentiousness earthly because they are fleshly, devoid of spirituality.

However, with a firm grip on the counsel found in the Bible, as well as with the help offered by God’s earth-wide congregation, we can move forward.
Can't let that point drop, can they?

It would have been interesting if, when he asked what congro she was in, you brought it to his attention that it's a really weird question to ask.
Congratulations on your happiness and new life.
