i know there has been countless threads on this, some say the paedophile scandal, others say the blood ban, some say the conduct of their elders, others say the petty rules etc.
but there is usually one thing that seals every one's fate, tips you over the edge,finishes you off.i was fading, very closely to full inactivity, off the book study list, and very sporadic meeting attendance, which took me to the very last time i set foot in my kingdumb hall, this is what happened;.
it was the memorial of 1994, i hadn't set foot in the place for months, but thought a show at the memorial would keep the wife happy and the elders at bay for a bit longer, i drove to the hall being careful not to get there too early(the wife was already there and had saved me a seat) i walked up to my seat about mid way in the hall so a lot could see me, it was packed probably about 200 there, as i sat down ( about 3/4 mins to go) a sister in front of me turned around and said"we haven't seen you in a long time!
My grandmother died earlier this year. We (my father and I) went two days later to my grandmothers house for the things that had to be done. Take everything away, say thanks to the people who cared for here.
Then an elder came in the room. He asked: did you report your fieldservice this month? It is already the 6 day of the month and i did not see your report.
Crazy! He did not say sorry for the loss of my grandmother, he asked for my fieldservice report.

If you call the society, you will get the answer "The Watchtower Society" has no ties with the OSCE and UN". And formaly, this is true.
Because, it is not the Watchtower Society, that is present at the OSCE meeting. It's the European association of JW, the Russia bla bla of JW etc.
The entity is a sub organisation of the Watchtower Society. So, formaly they are true if they say "The Watchtower Societ" was not present.

as a kid, i used to read all the watchtowers of the 40s and 50s to see how the present day information developed from its original "thought".
i was exposed to many eye opening statements but i swept them under the carpet (although it stayed in the recesses of my brain) until the time was right.. so for me, it was a gradual thing.. how were you affected by your first encounters with "apostate" material?

I read information about JW in the public library. Some witnesses worked there so I (15 years old) had to take a constant look over my shoulders. I was scared the elder watched we me reading the public JW file overthere. Ten years later I got internet on my room and took a look at H20 Hourglass everyday. I was scared about reading the information about 1799, 1874 and the original teachings about 1914. It was the beginning of my sarcasm about the JW writersstaf.

i don't really know where to start on my first post; i feel i have so much to say and yet i am so emotionally tired that it is hard to go through it all again in my head.
but, i do need support and advice and so i will make the effort.. i started having doubts about certain beliefs of the witnesses about 2 years ago and did research since that i now come to the belief there is no god, and witnesses definitely are a cult.. at first it bothered me more on the god issue, but now i am more bothered by the cult issue, mainly because it dictates my life even though i am aware of it.. when i was a child, my mother and father divorced and my mother told me i will live with my father because she was going to die at armageddon being a non witness.
i think, as well as many other pressures i cant list for fear of a very long post, this was the main pressure that made me get baptized even though i wasn't that happy being a witness.

i listened to this recording and wanted to provide a summary of what i have heard......in essence the end is here, keep on the watch, how can we tell the end is here, we tell you so, so keep on the watch....what about those who had incorrect expectations, well they were awake and watching, but mistook some of the signs, but the end is still soooo near.. .
the speakers pace is sooooo slow, even on the fast speed of playback, it seems to me to be slow.
he starts with an explanation on how they have a wealth of information available to them, and most of the questions they are answering come from the theocratic library, but one must be willing to do the research (i guess only amongst somewhat current publications, and of course only use the watchtowers information).. .
