been reading this site for awhile now.
i have had a long and often tragic life as a jw.
my story is so long because i'm pretty old :) i feel sad i've been locked in fear and guilt for my entire life.
Thanks for your story. Last week I went to the meeting due to family reasons. Beside 2 relatives I was fuly ignored. No kingdom smile for me even. All because i'm not doing the JW routine.
It made me sad. The religion of 4 generations. Showing not to practice what they preach.

after much research and prayer i am returning to being a jehovah's witness i can find nothing that eliminates them from being god's directed people , in the end they will reach the end of there journey despite mistakes and errors just like the israelites entered the promised land , thanks for your input and all the best on your personal journey ☺.

after we heard some time ago that before the time of russel there was no "faitful slave" or no anointed ones who formed a faitful slave class, now we learn that we dont know if before russel there were not "faitful ones" or "anointed".
indeed jackson says that we know the bible teaches that throughout the history there would be a large number of "sons of the kingdom" ..or anointed ones.. beginning from this month in several projects including a film about christian bible translators who gave an example of "faithfulness" and "discretness" in translating the bible, the christian bibletranslators and missionionaries who used "jehovah" by the way are receiving ultimate praise of the governing body, in the first place at the moment is shown the video about tyndale, wo so is very much supposedly a "faithful one" and perhaps even "anointed" because he loved the bible.. jackson says that those early missionaries of the christendom already "preached the message" before russell.

in an earlier reddit post we discussed the possible role that watchtower business associate and trump son-in-law may play in a trump white house; and if that meant that wt may have a friend with the president-elect's ear.. now, thanks to a tip from /u/jpentrak, i've been alerted to the fact that watchtower has removed the video news update: jehovah’s witnesses moving forward.
this video featured jared kushner speaking in glowing terms about wt personnel and how well maintained the buildings were by the organisation.. despite claims in this same video that "we're not trapped in time" by watchtower spokesman david a. semonian, clearly they don't know that the internet never forgets.. here is the url of the removed page:.

This kind of information is very interesting. Mr. Kushner is now the first advisor of the president.
From my growing perception the Watchtower organization is just like an other fully optimized USA corporation.

my dad{rip}, was a faithful jw since the year i was born, i'm 60, he died 2 years ago.
his last 12 years were spent in an assisted living/nursing home right in the small town where he spent the last 8 years of being an elder/pioneer.
when he went into the home, one brother would visit him regularly, but after 4 years, that friend moved away, and visitation from the locals ceased, for 8 years!!!!!!!
One time I was in field service, the householder was very angry to us. I asked why. He took some time to tell why. He said that he found enormous amounts of Watchtower publications in the house of his passed away mother. I am so angry I can kick your ass, he said, because you're religion made her home a warehouse for literature and she payed for it. When she got sick, nobody was there. Please leave before I'm doing regrettable things he warned us.
I will never forget that.

Not new, how sad, but common practice. My grandmother, one of the lovely's and good hearted JW's ever, spent her last 5 years in a nursery home. No visits. Forgotten. No attendance also only one elder who did the service.

so... one of my employees is a miserable servant and was giving the pt and invited me to come knowing full well i was faded out, i go along cos i respect him and thought why not, i must admit i was a little nervous headed back there (a neighboring hall not my old one) i saw alot of familiar faces and some old friends who were aware of my fade, all so pleased to see me at a meeting again and i can sum up how i felt about the experience like this.. .
have you ever been to a party and been the only sober person there and are totally aware of the ridiculous things said and going on?
that's what it felt like except the party would have been more fun of course,... all these good people, drunk off their heads on wt propaganda and false hopes, the irony was the talk was titled "does your life have meaning?".

overall the numbers are better than last year (1.8% growth compared to 1.5% last year -- as i predicted ;-) ) with an increase in all major figures including 1300 more congregations (i assume this is not physical kingdom halls?).
Don't forget the new baptized lemmings.
Example: a small decrease in publishers for The Netherland in 2016. And aprox 500 baptized.
So the small decline is in fact a huge lose.
So it wil be in much more country's.
Year after year a part of the old population is replaced with new one.
Thos must have effect.
