there have been many but i had a total melt down at the end of sophie's choice.

i hadn't cried in years before i saw that movie in in 1982. i was still very much a jw at the time.

i have no idea where the pain and sorrow came from, maybe it was the fact there are things people have gone through that we have defied all reason logic.

i'm a member on jw talk (until now at least) and have been regularly checking up on their thread regarding the annual meeting.

there hasn't been a great deal to report on except for this recent post that has been made.

going past a 'new-age' shop today i stupidly said to my most 'uber' wife, do you want a reading?

" ..not a good idea.. oh dear.. she opened up correcting my every other word and brought in a stream of jw speak and now many hours later is still steaming under an acute cloud of sol.. oh god keep me from being so stupid; cut out my tongue, glue my teeth together.

In my case sometimes I have a buddy, but when family presure pops up, buddy is less buddy.

Never know the real thoughts of buddy.

It feels not good.

This religion is killing relations.

Great tribulation

you've likely heard all this before, but i had to laugh (silently) at the public talk today.. he focused on how close we are to the end.

we're not only in the last days, but we're in "the final part" of the last days.. also, we are nearing "the end of the final part of the last days".

he didn't read any scriptures backing up how the last days are broken up like this.. i went today since relatives es were visiting, but it was more entertaining than usual.. as well, the gb isn't warning us about armageddon, rather they're mainly warning about the great tribulation, which is "very, very, close!

1975—Were You Affected By What 1975 Was Supposed to Bring?

for years , we were told to wait until 1975!.

the end was coming and we better be ready—or else!.

Born in 1970, 4th generation jw, remember some family discussions about the "excuse" watchtower article in 1979. It was a family debate. Later I heard we missed a summer holiday in 1975 because of the predictions.

In 1985 I asked my father about the big boxes with rice at the upper floor level. Hé told me because of 1975, but only a mouse had advantage of it.

It is still strange that dad says hé never believed in 1975 but sold his house, and went pioneer that year.

Later hé changed and became a jw with a succesfull public life.

I Saw An Elder Yesterday Who Told Me 3 Area Kingdom Halls Were Being Dissolved

he said they read the letter to the congregation and were told the kh would be disbanded.

2 other halls in the area were slated for closure.

he said many people in the congregation began crying.
