Slimboyfat, I would take Leolaia's comment in a way that Erasmus mused- We will not be judged on whether we view the Holy spirit proceeding from the Father alone or from the Father and the Son, but we will be judged on whether or not we practice the fruitages of the spirit, love, joy peace etc.. paraphrased.

Being new here I am not familiar with you or your present beliefs but you used the H word (heresy) in an earlier post in writing about the two powers heresy. Were you expressing a personal position to those who understand Jesus differently than you or were you using heresy in the academic sense of a position that is contrary to a stated Creed.
Might I ask what your personal views are of Jesus and do you attend or congregate with any particular fellowship or denomination.

so i have really decided to lay off religion with my hardcore jw wife...
by oompa indamm it is awful.....and it is awful what i have put her through the past two years......so many tears, screams, walkouts, and even two brutal slaps on the chops...(all by her to me btw....although i have shed plenty of tears too).....just awful.......i so wish i could have just shut tf up.....but that is me.....vocal.....real.......open......we have been apart for awhile.......and i think that helped us both......i think she will now respect my non-jw life.....even though she will not be around my non jw friends ...give and take....and i will let her tread water in her cult.

A lot of us have been where you are, at the crossroads, addicted, in pain and wanting a new life.
It will turn out ok, give yourself time and permission to start a new life. The old cravings will subside.
I was introduced to man size drinking when I was 15 by the Presiding Overseer and the Assistant Overseer. I spent 37 years as an addict from that starting point. I have been clean and sober 9 years. I work in counseling now and help many Witnesses and xjws through their addictions and emotional messes. A new life is possible, new interests, new goals, new friends. 12 steps are good, they will give you clarity and purpose.
