hi everyone.... just curious how many of you knew when you were active, about the societys official teaching regarding jesus the mediator.
i was floored to find in my research, that they teach jesus is the mediator for the 144,000 only.
and it is only by our association with them that we might have salvation.. i don't know about you guys but i was blown away when i learned they taught this.
J.Rutherford was like John Calvin in respect that both believed in forms of Limited Atonement, rather than Universal Salvation.
Calvin of course believed in strict Predestination of the saved and the damned.
Rutherford's Baptist upbringing may have been an influence since many Baptist groups believe in Calvin's concept.
Both guys were a couple of strange ducks.......I did spell that with a 'd' didn't I.
Thanks, I'm working thru my junk like everyone else, we all know how difficult it is to fathom how we gave such a huge chunk of our lives to a religion that betrayed us on so many levels.
You should know also that I completely understand the need for people joining a Church for friendship and a sense of community.
