Many on the earth celebrate your birth, and sing your praises. Many celebrate Christmas in honor of your birth.

Many (some xJWs included) do so as hypocrites because they really do not believe anything, they simply want to join the crowd while at the same time saying: I am no longer a blind believer of religion! HA!

The irreligious join the rest of Christianity to symbolically kiss your feet and honor your godship!

What a crock! Hypocrisy and group mentality reign!

Why hang on in there??

not been posting on this board too long, but started my ex jw internet excursion with the philia group back in 1995 (thanx alanf:-)).. not wishing to poke anybody in the eye but i'm curious at those mails i've read where some of you guys are hanging in on there (from where i sit) under the jw tag.

by that i mean you've clearly identified you've not attended meetings, have no intention of going to meetings, maybe (albeit under the jw rules)in a d/a or d/f situation, but laying low.. geniunely interested in why - i got d/f by banging on the elders door (metaphysically speaking) and sitting through a judicial to get out properly.. maybe 33 years as jw straight off (18 years under hillary step formula:-))skewed my thinking, but just curious....

Thanks for responding. My point was that even though we may have sacrificed family relationships, for some of us it was well worth it.

Our integrity remained intact!

Who am I talking about? It should not come as too big a surprise that there are those at Bethel who know what changes need to be made and who are honest and loving brothers, just like Ray Franz and Br. Dunlap were when they were there.

Ken,

As has been said on this thread, everyone must choose their own way.

But, it must also be said that for whatever reason some choose a harder way than others. Why? That is for each to say. Many of us choose to risk losing mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, friends and even our children for what we feel in our heart is right.

It was not easy. But, damn, it was worth it! Integrity is good and in the end is well worth the price!

That will not be for some time! The number of anointed has held steady for quite some time, and there was a rather dramatic increase of 69 new partakers in 2001!

I believe you are not taking into consideration those in mid-management positions at Bethel who know full well the problems and are waiting to close in on the leaders and make changes, honest changes.

How Long A JW ( Baptised )?

i frequently read on this board that somebody has 'been a jw for over 25 years' and then learn that they are in fact 25 years and three days old.. i am very easily confused, in fact i actually got inside a car of similar color to my own recently and spent at least five minutes with a furrowed brow trying to force my car key into its ignition, fortunately, i realised my error before i was arrested.

so, just to humor me, can you all post how long you were/are baptised jw's?.

I was a baptized JW for 36 years before I disassociated myself.

the watchtower society dates noah's flood to 2370 b.c.e.

they do this by following bible chronology quite closely, counting backwards from 607 b.c.e., their date for babylon's destruction of jerusalem.

however, as we know, the society's date for that event is in error.

Actually, Jesus confronted the religious leaders of his day on that very point, their blindness. He never though poked fun at those little stumblings which are common to all mankind.

Your response to my criticism was calm and humble, one that Jesus would have approved of. I respected you as a result.

You are right, women should not teach for did not Jesus say that only HE was the teacher?

So I will relent to HIS words and not my own:

What was the greatest news in all the world? Was it not the raising of the Christ? Did the Christ tell Peter or John to go and tell the disciples of his resurrection? No, he did not, though Peter and John had just been to the tomb also. He chose a lowly woman to deliver this greatest of all good news!

What was the other greatest news in all the world? The coming birth of the Messiah. Again who was the first to be told?, a woman.

This of course had nothing to do with these women being greater, to the contrary they were quite lowly. But that was the point.

"It was to shame the wise that God chose what is foolish by human reckoning, and to shame what is strong that he chose what is weak by human reckoning; those whom the world thinks common and contemptible are the ones that God has chosen."

The great pity is that men like yourself while claiming great knowledge are spiritually blind. It's love Jesus taught, but for many religious men "rulership" feels good, too good to let go of even for the Christ! (Rulership of course requires rules and laws as you have nicely enumerated for us in your previous post!)

The greatest "teachings" have already been taught, God does not need more teachers he needs more people to deliver the sayings and instructions of Jesus as HE purposed them to be understood!
