  What happened to GB member Leo Greenlees??

  i would like to ask jws who are visiting here to go check their watchtower indexes for leo greenlees.

  he was a member of the governing body, he also is the only governing body member whose disappearance from the gb is not documented in watchtower literature!

  the announcement of the death, resignation or dismissal of every gb member can be found in watchtower publications except that of leo greenlees!!!

  I believe this issue is an important one. Why did the Watchtower not report the dismissal of Leo Greenlees? He was a member of the Governing Body!

  Why does he disappear in the Watchtower literature without mention?

  Why is he the only one that is not accounted for????

  Ewart Chitty's leaving of the GB was documented in the 1980 yearbook, page 258. While it did not mention why he left, unlike Greenlees, they at least acknowledged that he no longer was a member of the Governing Body. [8>]

  The announcement of the death, resignation or dismissal of every GB member can be found in Watchtower publications EXCEPT that of Leo Greenlees!!! He just disappears with no word. One day he is giving Gilead Graduation talks etc. and it seems that the next he just disappears. Why???

  Why no announcement of his death, no announcement of his leaving, no anything!

  This is a mystery! Whatever happened to Leo Greenlees????????????

  " a case study for this statement can clearly be evidenced by the governing body of jehovahs witnesses.. the gb present themselves as lovers of truth and righteousness who are the only persons on this planet who speak for god.

  this doctrine is at the very core of the beliefs of jehovahs witnesses and is one of the few that cannot be rationalized away by wts apologists.

  You have put the Watchtower on a scale and have shown them to be grossly wanting.

  As "Spiritual Israel" they have claimed to drink the wine of God's blessings, perhaps it is now time for them to also drink the wine of God's maledictions.

  Thank you for this excellent, though somewhat painful, summation of our once beloved "home" where the emperor truly has no clothes and all the king's horses and all the king's men cannot hide his nakedness anymore.

  Motherhood is such a precious thing and you have had the wonderful opportunity to experience the kind of love from your mother that will live forever as you pass it on to your daughter and she to hers. What a legacy!

  The death of a parent is so hard! They were always there ya know, like the sun that rises and the tide that comes and goes. Then they're gone, so hard it is.

  You are loved by many here, lean on them.

  The Watchtower: Divine Light or Dark Light?

  " is the title of this week's watchtower study article.

  "Divine Light Dispels Darkness!" is the title of this week's Watchtower study article. The following is a quote from the first subheading:

  QUOTE- Jehovah conveys spiritual light primarily through his inspired Word, the Bible....Through the Bible, Jehovah sheds light on his purposes and tells us how we can do his will....Jesus is closely identified with spiritual light. Indeed, he spoke of himself as 'the light of the world' and said: 'He that follows me will by no means walk in darkness, but will possess the light of life.'(John 8:12)....The apostle John wrote:'God is light and there is no darkness at all in union with him.'(1 John 1:5) Notice the contrast here between light and darkness. Spiritual light originates with Jehovah, and spiritual darkness cannot be associated with him. UNQUOTE

  The Watchtower Society claims that spiritual darkness cannot be associated with God and they also claim that God progressively reveals new light when he deems necessary. I agree with both of these claims. But does "new light" from God reverse the "old light" from God? How could it, for if it did then the "old light" was not light at all but in reality darkness, a lie; darkness and lies are not from God. And if the "old light" was not from God was it then an educated guess? If so, then it is likely their "new light" is also an educated guess.

  The Apostle Paul never wrote something and then later reversed it or changed it completely, neither did Jesus. Why does the Watchtower have to? Why did they have to make changes to: the Generation teaching, the 1874 as the start of Christ's invisible presence teaching, the disallowance of blood fractions teaching, the Great Crowd teaching, the Sheep and the Goats teaching etc. The former teachings were taught as "light" the later updated teachings as "new light", but in reality they were Dark Light something that God has no part of.

  Paul's letters even 2000 years after they were written still stand true but today's FDS stumbles around publishing educated guesses at a time when God is about to come for judgement. For the Watchtower divine light has NOT dispelled darkness. This FDS has failed, it must change or be replaced. For the sake of the brothers it would be better to keep the old root stock but God does not need to.

  The Governing Body needs to ask itself some hard questions:

  Why does God in this most important of all times allow his FDS to flounder about with no clear direction from him?

  Why did God provide Moses, Jesus and Paul with signs, public signs of his approval but not us?

  Why do our calls for help go unanswered?

  What evidence do I have from God that he himself has appointed me to lead his people, what irrefutable evidence can I produce to others of his appointment of me?

  Am I humble enough to accept correction from God?

  Have I purposely disregarded and dishonored visible manifestations of God's spirit upon a brother only because they were not the kind of person I thought should be chosen by God?

  When will night end?

  Beck,

  There are some people who are born with the inability to cope with the raw world around them. In their heart a better world is envisioned than what they find. When reality sets in so does deep sorrow. Suicide is a release.

  I am so sorry to hear of this young man's choice. I do hope that in the end he found peace.

  i started thinking about this subject again after seeing the post on the watchtower as a false prophet.

  do any of you remember how this was explained in the old days (i've been out so long i don't know if this is now "old light")?

  They go to Russell's grave and chant Rutherford's name while they toss Freddie Franz' writings up in the air. Heads means yes, tails means no.
