  a letter dated december 7, 2009 to all congregations (not sure if it was just the us branch or not) said that the elders should ask the publishers to submit slips of paper anonymously with an amount they would be willing to contribute each month towards either:.

  a: repaying the outstanding, local, kingdom hall loan, or.

  b: if there is no local loan, contributing to the kingdom hall construction fund.. .

  Question for JW - Why do you have a "secret" WT edition?

  recently i asked my wife: if our son one day comes home and says "well, i just joined new religion, we study a publication there, that iam not allowed to show anybody..." how would you feel?

  does it sound like a cult?.

  wife admitted: that would be scarry..... me: so why do jw have secret wt edition to study, that noone else is supposed to get?.

  Because if they gave the public the study edition of the WT that spell out all the restrictions that they have and point out how all those "wordly" people are lovers of Satan and not God, they wouldn't be able to sucker people into their kingdumb halls.

  Take for example the recent wt that stated that married couples should not embrace each other during prayer and should only hold hands discreetly...if I were a householder and read that I would be like wtf?? You people are a cult!

  'Giving Attention to the Needs of the Circuit.' Sooo uplifting...

  at a recent circuit assembly a circuit overseer gave an awesome talk during the portion, 'giving attention to the needs of the circuit.

  and with such a high pricetag, please don't let it be empty.

  Please help? My sis has been summoned to a JC without a prior meeting.

  they have caught up with my sis, they want her to come to a meeting on monday.

  she says she is going to just go and blag.

  - even attend a few meetings if necessary.

  creativ-you mentioned the elders said they heard your sis was saying negative things about the org...do they have any of these things in writing or is it all hearsay? did your sis express her thoughts to people in person or did she ever write it down and email it? point being, if its all hearsay, like 'we heard from this person that you said this' then she can simply say she was misunderstood and wasn't being negative or speaking against the org.

  tell her not to give away what she said, instead wait for them to mention what it is they heard, and then she can say "what i meant by that was.." and say something like others have posted, she was looking for spiritual guidance from others and trying to get insight on where she could look for her questions. tell her to ensure them that she will ask more spiritually mature people next time, like them (the elders) since they would probably be better equipped to answer her questions (flattering them is key).

  if she fakes it well enough, that she is sincere in her efforts to take in more solid food, and that she will be careful of how she asks questions so as not to be misunderstood, she might be able to get away unharmed (or not DFd in this case)

  i hope it goes well for her!

  @ Doubting Bro-I have always questioned the legitimacy of some of those interviews and thought that some were probably enhanced to make them sound better, and your post totally validated that! Wow!

  before i go further, has anyone researched or ever found an explanation?

  i am into other topics now but fell upon some actual reasons.

  i believe the wt just says it's symbolic and since it's not the same 12 as originally, that it proves it's symbolic.

  I seem to remember the WTS saying its symbolic and thus proves that its not natural born Jews that make up the heavenly class but instead its spiritual Israel, or people of all nations. I've never actually looked into it myself though, so I'm curious to read what you've found.

  the thing that sucks is that they are very much alive & we are literally less than five miles apart from each other everyday.

  i had a long talk with one of my siblings today.

  i've been getting a really weird vibe lately...today it was confirmed that i will be shunned from here on out from them.

  I'm so sorry to hear this AwSnap. I hope that maybe your conversation with your sibling has sown a few seeds of doubt, enough that he/she goes to investigate what you have said and finds all the other lies that the WTS has told him/her. It's painful to see families torn apart by this cult. I really feel for you

  there is about a foot of snow on the ground in the kansas city area.

  i was at my son's house on sunday and decided to go out a side door to get to my car.

  when i opened the door i noticed some very strange animal tracks.

  The only 3 toed mammal that comes to mind is a sloth, but I'm pretty sure they only live in tropical climates...unless its Sid from Ice Age

  In my pre-dub days I never swore, and being a dub now I rarely, if ever, swear (unless you count "crap" and "darn" as some dubs would). However I am not offended when someone swears around me, unless there are kids present, or if we are in a professional environment or an occasion that calls for nice language.

  When I do drop the F bomb, its usually just around my hubby or when I get really heated up about something (like bad drivers!) but I just whisper it because it makes me feel naughty
