  Congregation Bible Study Book

  not sure if this question was addressed yet, but does anyone know what the next book is that will be studied at the congregation bible study?.

  i'm pretty sure we're close to the end of keep yourselves in god's love, or maybe it's finished already, so if anyone knows what the new study aid will be please let me know.. .

  i am beginning to question the existence of a christian god, or any god for that matter, but i also can't quite commit to believing in evolution.

  so where does that leave me?

  you know how jws always say when you have a bad day and feel burnt out from work or stress has taken over your life, you can find refreshment and peace at the meetings being among the friends?.

  Question about Heaven and the Resurrection

  this is a teaching that i have been starting to research lately, as i am not really sure i believe it anymore.

  background: i wasn't raised a jw, so i grew up believing that all good people go to heaven, and all bad people go to hell.

  when i became a jw, i started to believe in the 2 different hopes for makind since it seemed to make sense to me and sounded better than people going to hell.

  "True Christians Give Out of Love"

  in the congregation bible study for the week of nov 30, the subject of christmas is studied (along with easter, birthdays, and halloween), but under the subheading related to christmas being a pagan holiday, jesus not being born on dec 25, yadda yadda, the point is brought out that true christians give out of love, not out of compulsion or on any specific day (not the exact quote mind you).

  true christians give out of love...so all the "bad" christians who give presents to family and friends and loved ones on christmas don't do so because they love those to whom they give gifts, but rather because they have to...because its dec 25...?.

  is this the kind of tactic the wts has employed to maintain control of their followers?

  Stumbling Your Fellow Brothers

  i just felt the need to express my thoughts on the matter of "stumbling others" in the congregation.

  they tell you that you are accountable for your own soul and responsible for your own spirituality, and then they tell you that you can't do something if its going to stumble your brother.. if a brother/sister sees me doing something not condemned in the bible but maybe is a matter of conscience and he/she is stumbled...why is that my fault?

  what makes me accountable for that?

  Have you ever turned down a Shepherding Call?

  hello all, i was wondering if any of you have every turned down a shepherding call, and if so, how did you do it?

  did you just say "no thanks" or did you give a reason?.

  i need some suggestions on how to decline one myself, since running away from them at the hall will only work for so long .

  Any Experience with Two Judicial Committees?

  hi everyone, just wondering if anyone that is or was df'd before has any experience with moving to a new congregation and having to meet with their old jc and a new jc at their new hall?.

  a friend of mine who is df has been trying to get back in to reconnect with her family and is having a really hard time with the reinstatement process.

  she has been attending meetings at the new congregation for about a year now and has asked the new jc to meet to discuss her reinstatement.

  after several months of searching these forums i finally decided to join.

  i have to say i feel both nervous and excited at the same time.

  but everything i have looked into so far has helped me come to many realizations about the organization so i'm overall very glad to have joined.
