  for those of you who remained christians after leaving the wts... do you attend a church or bible study group?

  what kind, and why?.

  (i apologize if this subject has been done before... i couldn't find it in the archives.

  I've not bothered with the Bible etc. following my exit from dubland. The holes in the WTS apply to a similar extent to other christian belief systems.

  please, y'all out there..congratulate dansk on becoming a jedi master.. since we've been out (feb 03) this board and all you lovely people on it have been the greatest source of inspiration to both dansk and myself.

  you'll never realise how much you have helped us to cope with the whole ordeal.

  so reaching his jedi status is a real milestone.. you're all life-savers and you didn't even know it!!!.

  Once you have dealt with the issues of responsibility a good measure of amnesia helps folks get over their ordeal. On the other hand to relive those events again through a DB is not always helpful. So some folks come, get the support, get out of the Org, never come back here, never want to! Thats cool! Not everybody wants to be a Simon Weisenthal!

  Which way will the Society go because of the Internet?

  i've only learned the truth about this society over the last 5 months or so, so i'm not sure what the difference is to say - 2 years ago.

  do you think the society will now get even more cultish in it's methods of teaching and more heavy handed if they feel things are slipping?

  i don't feel i'm being over the top here because i've experienced very heavy handed talks at the assemblies and kingdom hall in the past that are just plain scare tactics but this just makes people ask more questions ??

  I got tired of going to Conventions and feeling like I had been beaten with a stick.

  I just got tired! They were so boring! No wonder most of the elders did what they could to avoid sitting there for 3 days.

  Did anything a householder said ever make an impression on you?

  coming at this as a householder rather than an ex-jw, i'd love to hear from any of you about comments from householders that made an impression on you, back when you were active in the door-to-door work.

  since the jw's first knocked at my door 13 years ago, i've done my best to give them something to think about every time they knock at my door.

  i always introduce myself by name and try to get their names.

  The WTS is becoming an old persons religion. Eventually you will only see the old coming out of kingdom halls. The internet is not a big deal with those. The WTS can only exploit where there is ignorance and poor social conditions.

  i've been talking to a few witnesses who were at the assembly this weekend, and apparently there were loads of apostates there!

  any body from here go?

  i was told about silent lambs, and some others who were giving out leaflets.

  Well, it seems he was only looking at a year for the domestic violence matter...so to get life for the spitting incident was a big hike...

  You are right though, spitting is quite anti-social, and deserves life. He should be glad hes not going to the chair.

  Vinyl records or CD's?

  i grew up with vinyl records and i found the sound great except for the scratches and dust on the records.

  today, i think that no one plays vinyl records anymore or just threw them all away.. if you take away the dust and scratches of the vinyl disc, did you prefer the sound of the vinyl records compared to the sound of the digital cd's we have today?.
