it has taken many, many years to write this book.
i got a book deal in 2003, and published 7 other books before i could finish this story - because it brought up too many wounds that haven't healed.
after my last memorial in 2000, i knew i'd never walk into another kingdom hall unless somebody died.
Congratulations on finishing your book. It sounds great, i will definitley be purchasing a copy and look forward to reading it

for me, i don't, i like to keep the house clean of pet hairs, etc...., that does not mean i hate pets.
i even watch the animal planet channel from time to time, no pets inside, all is good!
.
Aw, Rocco is gorgeous
I adopted a stray kitten a couple of months ago, she was skin and bone, poor thing. We nursed her back to health and now she has taken over the house and our lives lol. She is gorgeous but hard work! I agree, animals do make your home stinky. She has a litter tray but she keeps missing the tray, pointing her bum over the edge and plopping on the floor!! Good job i love animals.

thought folks would enjoy this video i posted online.
it's only 47 seconds.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2izmpmqisei.
Aw, she's so cute :)
this is one post i had always hoped i would never have to do, but after a long and brave battle, my beloved brother in law has died.
i have done a couple of threads on this in the past, so many of you know the battles he was facing.
he had been diagnosed earlier this year with myelodysplastic syndrome and the mortality rate of this disease is quite high.
Mary, your brother-in-law sounded like a wonderful person, I am so sorry for your loss. I cried as i read your post, my thoughts are with you tonight
i was so happy when my best friend {a witness} since childhood tells me he has doubts about the org.
and how brothers are "two faced" and the "false prophecies", and how he "needs a woman soon or he'll visit a brothel".... he had not gone to meetings for months and his mum blamed me although he didn't need much convincing.
well we went to the convention to please family and he enjoyed the lavish attention he got from so many "loving" brothers.
Don't worry, once he's regularly back at meetings all the kiss assing will wear off and they'll treat him with the usual contempt. He'll just have to learn the hard way i'm afraid.

we have a lot of new ones on this site as well as some who have been here for years----i know this subject has been brought up before, but were there any memorable cos or dos that you can recall?.
co arnie scneider was my last co when i was an elder.
he was a very sweet man..
We had a couple of decent CO's over the years but most of them had let it go to their heads completely. One CO was a real jerk, extremely serious, popmous and strict . He used to act like he was God Almighty.Everybody hated him.

i realize as an elder that i am speaking out against the very organization i try to faithfully represent, but i personally think that the governing body is wrong by teaching that only what they teach us, as printed in the watchtower publications, should be considered to be the truth.
theyve made the expression of any personal opinions or group debates over their official versions of biblical truths subject to disciplinary action often leading to someone being disfellowshipped.. .
that is why i feel that i must keep my own identity somewhat anonymous.
Thanks for posting this, it's interesting reading something from an active elder's point of view. But i suspect this person will not be a witness for very much longer - he is already realising things don't smell right. He has worked out for himself that the GB cannot be directed by holy spirit so it's just a matter of time.
