  my 6 year old talks about god an awful lot.

  Outside of schools that are faith based, schools are not suppose to teach religion outside of religious classes ( if they have them).

  IF, and that is a big IF, the teacher said that, you need to find out the context of the conversation.

  I doubt it was part of teaching for a 6 year old ( grade 1, yes?).

  My kids go to a Catholic school ( it was the closest to us and it is small and a great teacher to student ratio).

  They teach about God of course in religion class, they pray of course, say the golden rule everyday, zero tolerance policy for bullying and violence in school AND they teach evolution in science class.

  Does fear of death equate to need for God?

  read a very interesting opinion article on cnn last night.

  "why i raise my kids without god".. .

  the writer aluded to the fear of the possibility of one's life ending forever (along with our beloved children's).

  Death ( never held any fear or issues for me and still doesn't)

  Fearing God ( never have and never will fear God).

  i'm a bit excited about this to be honest with you.

  i'm not even remotely a cycling fan, but all this controversy made it a bit difficult to simply ignore.

  i'm curious to see how he does when those questions come at him full force.

  When it comes to the drugs themselves, I'm not completely sure what to think. I've heard arguments that an athlete will take cold medicine to heal an illness so they can better perform. We all do that. So if that same athlete takes a drug to improve the operation of some part of their body, is that really any different?

  Depends on the drug.

  Some do give you a competitive edge at the TIME of competion, but most only allow you to work out more, workout harder and recover faster.

  Anyone that has ever competed at any high level sport OR workout in a gym with high level atheletes knows how common the use of "recovery enhancers" ( because that is what most of them are) is.

  Outside of "game day" boosters and drugs, I personally do not think that drugs or supplements that aid in the workout and recovery process should be banned.

  My 66th birthday is today!!

  once i was little boy in fort worth, texas living with my maw maw and paw paw and mommy.. then, i was an 18 year old 6'4'' skinny 165lb religious nut being dipped in a baptismal during a local assembly.. suddenly, i was 20 and listening to a jail cell door clang behind me as a conscientious objector.. wow!

  23 years old and put on parole until my 6 years sentence was ended!

  i got married to a nice jw girl and had 3 kids!.

  what takes away salvation

  i am certain that the watchtower society is of the devil , they tell so many lies to cover up their false doctrines and satan is the father of all lies .

  so logically somewhere in those false doctrines there is something that prevents the rank and file from receiving salvation as satan works so hard to keep them in "the truth " does anyone else agree with that statement ?

  if so, what is it in their teaching that keeps them from the free gift of salvation that comes by the grace of god alone ?

  I know you like to make a big deal out of different views about minor issues among Christians. Unlike you and JWs, most Christians don't require agreement on everything. There are some essential doctrines they have in common, but the eternal state of believers isn't one of them.

  Well said.

  It is important to understand that the bible is and always will be interpreted and from that they may arise different views on the same issues BUT that is a strength (or shold be) of Christianity, not a weakness, we are open ( or shoudl be) to different views from our Christian brothers and while we may not agree, we respect and consider them. The core tenents of Christianity however, are uniform:

  Christ came, he was the incarnate son of God, the Word of God, He died, was resurrected and will come again, He is our Lord and Saviour and salvation ( for a Christian)is through Him and no one else.

  Have You Prepared For The "Flu" And Do You Get A Flu Shot?

  i try to keep my hands clean regularly and stay away from areas and people that i know are sick.. i have never gotten a flu shot and i do know that many that do get one, get the flu anyway.. still, the flu is considered very very bad this year..

  The worse flu season I ever had was the one where I took a flu shot.

  Never had a shot since and have not gotten the flu since.

  Sure I get little colds here and there, they never last more than a day.

  A body with flesh and bones but no blood?

  Like most believers you float from logical thinking to unscientific fantasy and back again effortlessly.

  Yes, I can go from science to theology quite easily, that makes me anti-science?

  I can also go from discussing martial arts to seafood or go from discussing best beachs I have been to, to discussing about why kung fu panda rocks more than teenage mutant ninja turtles.

  I am a man of many layers, obviously.
