angels and women
by caroline77 ini was told by jw's that angels came down to earth before the flood, and had children with women.. i have a question about this and would like the sort of answer a jw would give so that i can be ready for them when they come to my door.. if one third of god's angelic staff were banished to earth, are they doing this now?.
if not, what is stopping them?.
if so, where are all these half angel children?.

Apognophos, the puzzle I always stumped my hubby with was, who were the worthies Jesus was conversing with on the mountain (Mark 9)? Were they spirit beings or reconstituted in the flesh? Surely they weren't demons!

Bovine blood in lieu of human blood? What's the story with this?
by QuestioningEverything inmy mom is in the hospital with internal bleeding.
she has agreed, much to my surprise, to accept the blood alternative of bovine blood.
i've never heard of it but it appears that the jw hospital liason elders told her about it and that it was a conscious matter.

Losing Faith in Faith..
by Dis-Member ini came across this lecture at 3am not being able to sleep by dan baker.
it details his transition from christian fundamentalist to atheist and the various shades in-between.
he realises that every denomination of christian can open the bible and prove to you that they have the right interpretation and everyone else is wrong.

I believe it pays to reach for an ideal, as Victor Frankl explains in this talk. Perhaps it helps some to imagine that ideal to strive for, to have an exemplary life.

How about this one? The WTS teaches there are no ghosts, as this logically follows if we have no soul. And yet King Saul consulted the dead Samuel. (1 Samuel 28). So what is it?

This is what happens when you try and reconcile the entire bible as being a cohesive and consistent whole. The ideas of bodies, spirits and souls had changed over time. To make all the scriptures fit, you end up pounding in puzzle peices that do not belong.
If the bible is treated as a collection of books over a span of history, not necessarily consistent, it starts to all make more sense.

I swear there is someone in administration with a deep affection for classic buildings. He's indulged his passion using church funds for some time.
Was this subsidiary of the WTS on the list to freeze their assets? Someone should let Candace Conti's lawyer know.

Yup, hemopure.

I can see how HLC may be enamoured of this medical miracle. In an attempt to keep the WT prohibition and still live.
They ignore of course that we are supposed to pour the animal's blood out on the ground instead of "consume" it. I mean, that's where the whole stupid prohibition came about in the first place, isn't it?
I wouldn't share this cynicism with your mom of course. We all want her to live.

I suggest new dreams. I regularly review my personal mission statement following Covey's second habit.
https://www.stephencovey.com/7habits/7habits-habit2.php
This gives me focus and purpose. I also recognize opportunities when they fly by. My father is a good model on how to repurpose life, as I saw him start again several times (divorced my mom, left a job he loved, buried his beloved second wife from cancer, joined the bridge circuit, takes his third wife on road trips just to see her happy as long as his lungs will hold out). My chief vision these days is to pass on what I've learned. I can do this by playing with my granddaughter, writing, and planting oaks.

Balancing the Mix of Healthy Spiritual Teachings and Questionable Doctrines as JW
by ProfCNJ inif you are a current or active jw, you cannot help but feel you are in a bind.
while you have discovered the truth about the truth and has continuously researched on it, you cannot help also but to regard the fellowship inside, add perhaps those encouraging teachings which build up faith and spirituality.. the reality is you cannot just turn a blind eye on the goodness in the organization too or shall we say some of its members who are also standing by you.
somehow, you felt the fds food is helping you in a spiritual sense.

Which teachings, praytell, that can't be found elsewhere? I take exception even to the idea that breaking the law "Makes Jehovah Sad". How much more powerful to judge our own actions on whether they add to the lives around us, and avoid harm? I am sorry, the whole WT program stops ethical thinking.
