when i was a jw i had a lot of silly ideas that seemingly explained things i wondered about.
arguments from ignorance or special pleading i suppose.
actually, my conclusions were daft.. one thing i have wondered about and i don't know if anyone else has, is why man hasn't either rendered the earth to a cinder or why there haven't been more nukes go off against nations.
When two tribes of chimpanzees have an encounter and they are fairly evenly matched, there's a lot of screaming, ripping of branches, and thumping of chests. But no war.
War is expensive and disruptive for both sides. The prudent and human thing to do is avoid direct attack. The bombs stay in their bunkers.

opusdei, I am now an unorthodox Christian. There's more than one kind. I don't like apologist threads that attribute attitudes to athiests, just like I don't like athiest threads who paint all Christians with the same brush.

I don't like words or thoughts attributed to me, a practicing Christian. Aren't you more properly characterizing evangelicals who depend on an infallible bible?
we all know too well the barbaric atrocities the jihadist muslim extremists go , to reign their brand of terror in the west to instill fear amongst the population , with limited affect so far.. one of their means has been the use of willing suicide bombers in different parts of the world to cause fear.generally with limited casualties.. what if they decide to try and use the ebola virus with willing people ready to infect themselves and spread it internationally.
the ebola virus can cause dozens , hundreds , thousands , untold numbers of deaths in many parts of the world.. .
my concern now , and i think every nation should be concerned about this is , what if they try to deliberately send people into ebola infected areas , in africa and then have them fly out to whatever their home destination might be , spreading the disease far and wide in europe , america , the united kingdom , australia etc.etc.. i think these muslim extremists will use any means to bring down western society , any means at their disposal ,regardless of the cost.. what do you think .. smiddy.
It's a lousy pandemic carrier, smiddy. First of all, it is not that easy to catch. There must be blood/fluid contact. Second of all, the carriers will all be dead in a few days.
Terrorist groups have tried spreading disease before. It's not terribly effective.

gonzobear, I would not characterize the WTS as a terrorist group. I would also suggest that they specialize in boredom. Numb butts and numb minds don't ask hard questions.

So far Ebola is fairly easy to contain. It's the fatality part that is so alarming.

Who would have thought that a terror group would have surpassed the Al Qaeda to inspire terror, horror? Mark my words, the days of ISIS are numbered.
1 - still think it's the truth ...came to this site cause danger is your middle name.. 2 - concerned, smoething's amiss but still believe.
3 - 98% sure it's bs, but still go for / with family.
4 - anger / denial, inactive with minimal attendance (ie memorial, spec talk etc).

We had a minor scare in the hospital here in Edmonton. A seriously ill patient recently arrived from Africa. Turned out it wasn't Ebola. There was full lock-down in the hospital for a while.
