  i've read my fair share of their pubs, and nowhere, ever have i seen a clearly stated repentance or a humble confession on the part of the wts.

  i know that they have delicately admitted a mistake here and there, but it's always overshadowed by the self-praise logic that overall we should be thankful for the mistake.

  the bible specifically speaks against that.

  Dissing the JWs....

  i've been inactive for a few years now, and yet, despite all i read, i can't feel as you mostly all do.

  i have a lot of happy memories of being "in the truth" (and i know how much some here hate that line) and fond memories of the meetings and assemblies, sure it was much easier to break away and live life like i am now,..... but well, thats just how i feel.

  i can understand those that may leave for personal reasons, but not sure i'll ever understand some here who have such a hatred of anything jw related.

  Are all women psychos?

  im not sure if i was married to a psycho or not and am wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience with their ex.

  weve been divorced for 2-1/2 years and have had our ups and downs.

  because shes a diehard jw and doesnt have grounds to get re-married i get an ear full from her blah...blah.. anyway, one minute shes like "its terrible that i have to wait for you to get married before i can" and then this past weekend she calls me to talk.

  Will I always be a JW??????? :(

  i was wondering, since i was raised a jw, will i ever get rid of the mindset of being a jw.

  i have been out for 12yrs, but still find that certain things i say, or think, or react to remind me of being a jw.

  like with the current things going on with iraq and the us.

  Ravyn, please understand me. I am not saying that the Religion will always be part of your makeup. I am speaking as a survivor of abuse. As much as I would like to erase that part of my life, it did mark me, change me. I am a changed person because of the sum of all my experiences.

  I believe everything that happens to us shapes who we become. Adversity, though I would not wish it on my worst enemy, does change us; sometimes for the better. Consider the oldest tree in the world. Twisted by wind and weather, it still has its own beauty. And you have to admire it for it's sheer survival power.

  I think a little bit of the JW will always be in you, because that is who you are. You do have the power, though, to shed the bad parts.

  Is It Okay To Play Dirty?

  when it can free someone from the org?

  the reason i ask is that i want to get my friend out without scaring her away.

  after reading steven hassans books i thought about the following.. i could tell her about someone i knew who became a moonie and talk to her about their practices and how they control their members.

  Deceiving her like this might backfire. What if she figures it out and confronts her with it. I think you can be subtle without playing dirty. Just ask lots of wide-eyed questions. For instance, what are her interests? Chances are there is a WT article that deplores the practice. Challenge her on how sincere a witness she wants to be, if she is picking and chosing which parts of the WT life she is willing to follow.

  heathen, Billy Graham is the only evangelist I can listen to. My point is, with his record, it is hard to characterize him as a "spark" with no lasting impact.

  ...and about paradise right now, all I am suggesting is they can manage to justify the non-existence of the anointed on earth by simply extending their "invisible presence" idea a little further. I understand the 144,000 anointed go to heaven to co-rule with Christ. All the WTS has to say is, "All right, they are all up there now. Don't you notice the lovely heavenly co-rulership we are enjoying now?...oops. Did we say Armageddon would be here by now? I am sure you are simply mistaken. Keep up with the new light!"
