See, I spent many, many years in a church that put a lot of emphasis on worship. What the WTS offers is so, so, so... institutional. A pet peeve of mine is playing canned music as a cue for everyone to get to their seats. What is worshipful about that?

stuckinarut, here is how blondie has responded to these inane questions. She would turn it back on them and ask which part they liked best? She invariably got the blank stare. They'd forgotten.
You see, the convention quickly gets filed in their dustbin, too.

Kind of a double insult to accuse a man of PMS'ing.

Not on JW.ORG : San Francisco court orders Catholic workers to attend Jehovah's Witness meeting. Will Jehovah's Witnesses now be ordered to Catholic Churches?
by Balaamsass2 incatholic workers ordered to attend jehovahs witness meetingseptember 8, 2014 by mary maria leave a comment.
san francisco, california in an interesting case of religious rights in the workplace, the 9th circuit court of appeals has ruled that employees of the san gabriel/pomona regional center must attend services from the kingdom hall of the jehovahs witnesses.
the protestant church is not exactly known for its ecumenical cooperation or respect for the catholic church which it often decries as being a supreme object over the whole earth that rhymes with the word lore.. at issue is a five year dispute brought on by catholic employees who care for a disabled man at the facility.

Yup, hubby drops me off at the BACK entrance of church. In case a member from his congregation (just down the street) saw him drop me off at the FRONT. A "brother" saw him that one time and asked him outright if he was attending. Because if he was well, then....

Modern Morality .
by jhine inhaving recently been posting on a thread about ot moral values , which are not widely "appreciated " to say the least , i have been thinking about our modern morals about sex and reletionships , or more acurately the lack of any sexual morals todays .
i don't think that we are better off as a society which has gone so far to the do want you want , with whom you want and when you want approach to sexual ethics as we have .
i don't think that women are actually liberated by this attitude .

Says who, Gustv? The modern morality is do not harm. Bullying is bad. Love people for who they are. Preserve and revere the earth and it's resources. Our next generation is highly moral.

So I imagine Schindler's List is off the table too, eh? I once suggested this as a "date movie" to my future hubby. Dumb, dumb, dumb. Passion and sleep killer. He picks them most of the time now. Lucky for me, he loves chick flicks!

Darwin and his theory about woman. Interesting.... who agrees with this?

there are more links on the page to further research reading onthis subject.. .
according to darwinian theory, women were less evolved than men, and because of their smaller brains, they were eternally primitive, childlike, less spiritual, more materialistic, and a real danger to contemporary civilization.. .

Awww, you guys! I come from an evangelical background, and this doesn't look tacky to me at all. It's sorta neat.
But then again, JW's have been at the forefront of dignified and low-key. Nothing bland about those bibles!

I read the bags of love as a toddler's expression. Possibly derived from, "Black sheep, black sheep have you any wool? Yes sir, Yes sir, three bags full..." Toddlers are responsible for language evolution, thanks to their terrific leaps of logic.

Darwin decided to leave a posthumous memoir for his family, and on Sunday 28 May 1876 he began Recollections of the Development of my mind and character . He found this candid private memoir easy going, covering his childhood, university, life on the Beagle expedition and developing work in science. A section headed "Religious Belief" opened just before his marriage, and frankly discussed his long disagreement with Emma. At first he had been unwilling to give up his faith, and had tried to "invent evidence" supporting the Gospels, but just as his clerical career had died a slow "natural death", so too did his belief in "Christianity as a divine revelation". "Inward convictions and feelings" had arisen from natural selection, as had survival instincts, and could not be relied on. He was quick to show Emma's side of the story and pay tribute to "your mother, ... so infinitely my superior in every moral quality ... my wise adviser and cheerful comforter". [91]
Darwin unfailingly showed deference to his dear wife.
I believe it was later Darwinists who introduced the idea of female inferiority.
