when you were a jw, did you pray regularly with your spouse?
what about a "family study"?.
i was a pioneer and ministerial servant, but praying with somebody was always the most awkward, uncomfortable thing ever.
mentallyfree31, I can honestly tell you that I never knew a JW couple who actually did this...not even Special Pioneers who I worked with back in the day.
Most people were so dragged down by the formal schedule that they simply had no time for such things as this.
i have noticed that quite a few people here swear and use profanity.
an elder once told me this is quite common in the congregations he has been in.
i was raised in so never allowed to swear and never got into the habit.
My JW ex-wifes father once was overheard calling his dog a "son-of-a-bitch". He was called up before the other elders (he was an elder at the time) for language by a young newbie wanna-be bethel boy.
We excused him on the technical grounds that since a female dog is correctly called a "bitch", the dog actually WAS a "son-of-a-bitch" and this was not actually cursing.
Please let me assure you that this story is absolutely the truth - as bizarre as it may sound.

A few do name their Ferraris, most do not. I think it may be a man/vs/woman thing as much as anything. We have very few woman Ferrari owners participating; maybe only 3 or 4 that I can think of. On curiosity is that most owners know their serial number by heart (or at least the last 5 digits) - we refer to the cars that way quite often. True custom-body Ferraris are sometimes called by the name of the original owner who commissioned them.

This has come up several times on the Ferrari owners club site -- I would guess that probably 75% do not "name" their cars, or have a personalized license plate. (yes, maybe 25% do -)

Seriously, is this just an unpublished universal JW custom, or is it actually stated in print somewhere to not use "bulletin board"?

This has been around for years. It was explained to me, way back in the mid-1960s, the name "bulletin" had bad connotations - for instance, the Navy used it. It was then shortened in sailor talk that the bulletins were "bull". From there, it would be an easy leap to "bullshit".
I am not kidding - I was told this by the local presiding overseer.
i would like to know does jhw teaches what grace is , and how to recieve grace without any works , merits and qualifications?.
what is saved grace to jhw?.
if we are saved in the name of jesus why do they have to do things like go witnessing , and etc to get god to accept them when grace has already made us righteous un jesus and not jehovah?.

Like many here, I am a non-religious agnostic. I left the JW religion (I was an elder at the time) in 1979.
many argue that the truth will always be the truth because of core beliefs: no hellfire, no trinity, no immortal soul, adam and eve lost paradise (and thus paradise on earth will be restored and the need for the ransom), the issue of universal soverignty, last days, loving brotherhood, using god's name.. most people are attracted to the truth becuase of at least one or more of these beliefs and refer to these often as the 'ring of truth'.
this makes it very easy to then shrug of any of the past mistakes or any current teaching that is hard to understand or believe.
i myself am struggling with this.
