Revelation to me is sort of like Nostradamus - you can pretty much make up anything you want about it...and indeed this is just what the Watchtower has done.

The Reason Why the Society Changed the Meaning of "Generation"...again

but i thought i'd go ahead and put down my thoughts on why the wts changed the meaning of "generation" again in 2010, after changing it in 2008. in short, i think the 2008 "new light" caused many jws to doubt that the end is imminent, so the wts tweaked the meaning of "generation" to re-kindle the zeal in the flock.
a bit more explanation follows below.. for the sake of completeness, here is a list of the society's various meanings of "generation" over the last few decades:.

Probably so, bob1999 - but it reveals that they really don't know what they are doing.
Actually, if you think about it, the 2010 "overlapping generations" really makes the least sense out of any of their stories.
But they are probably stuck with it for the time being, as they have been changing this just a little too often for comfort.

So, taking Leolia's question - what was the reason for changing the 1995 explanation to the 2008 explanation?
It seems to me that they may just be experimenting around on this.

Christians today understand Bible prophecy in its finest detail only after it has been fulfilled.
Kind of makes you wonder what good such prophecy is. For example, they did not know about the golden bowls being poured out or the golden trumpets sounding in those midwest conventions until after the fact.
You would think that a decent prophecy would tell you stuff that is going to happen before the fact.
Of course, as noted before, the WTBTS is not very good at foretelling stuff in advance -

I am still amazed that they felt safe in tinkering with this generation thing again and again.

Delightful the way the witnesses used to say Russia was the king of the north and would dominate America, the king of the south. Then the Soviet Union fell.
Thus keeping up their absolute 100% failure rate on all prophesy.

I know thats part tongue in cheek JWoods, but care to expand?
Probably someone who has been around them more recently than I have could answer it better, but they have pretty much made a complicated spread-sheet were certain blood fractions are allowable. It is apparantly to the point where just about everything except for whole blood transfusions is allowed - but reportedly many JWs are not aware of the extent of the new rules.

his most recent video is a satirical expose of the most recent generation doctrine change.

Miserloveselders makes an excellent point. Maybe somebody at CO level or up is a little sick to the stomach over this BS?
It is also interesting, as others have pointed out, that the WTS has pretty much admitted to the authenticity of this posted outline. Even if it got pulled down as a video, no doubt it will live forever in a multitude of other postings on the internet.
