  there have already been several threads started about this particular issue.

  quite a bit of stuff to reflect on, especially the articles elevating the elders and gb.... but here's another gem..not as significant, but still interesting.

  i grew up as a jw and it was verboten to say "bless you" or "gesundheit" after someone sneezes.

  No scholar worth his salt would operate like that.

  Indeed. And notice also, that as far as Christ coming - 1913 or 1915 or anything else would have been just as good if you are going to say it was all "invisible" anyway.

  But they had to stubbornly have 1914 even if the historical facts and dates had to be juggled to make their wacko "backwards prophecy" add up.

  True, they did forget that year zero did not exist when they originally counted back from 1914.

  And notice that they changed the 606/607 date, not the 1914 date, because they were counting backwards from their 1914 adventist fixation.

  Is it me only, or isn't this 9/15/10 WT practically an all-time world record of Watchtower/GB "worship us" arrogance?

  I can remember when the governing body idea was first floated, and all the elders were constantly told how it was an excercise in humility - so that we were not "following one man" any more. This was even coupled with the notation that the presiding elder of congregations would be rotated each year, and that even the circuit overseer was "just another elder".

  None of that lasted more than a few years, but this is to me a really blatant issue of the WT for GB exaltation.
