Its a reason why he hasn't attempted to expose too much about the cult to her because any mention that isn't praising the WT, turns his GF into cult GF.

well, they got young and very liberal elders who weren't by the book.
the experience didn't end up being quite as bad as i prepared him for and they both only got private reproof.

Australian brothers VERY negative comments regarding new "generations" ... some leaving Bethel..will this blow up in the Watchtowers face?
by Witness 007 ina brother i spoke with from bethel to me seemed discouraged and lacking zeal latley...he spoke of leaving which shocked me since he was there for decades...he left to get a full time job!!!
it was his whole reason for living since i've known him!
others have said the new doctrine of "blended generations" of anionted seeing armagedon is "confusing" or "i just don't get it"...one brother my only close friend is furious and said i qoute..."they seem to be blowing smoke up our ass!

Apathy - not apostasy - among JWs is the Watchtower's greatest enemy. Yes, there has historically been a high turnover of active JWs.
It is possible that eventually this apathy will affect them the same way it has the seventh day adventists - rank and file forgets about the urgency of the end times, and the whole thing just inexorably starts slowing down due to lack of interest.
This may be a much more likely outcome (for their masses) than any sudden revolt over yet another failed prophecy.

However, it is the custom in some countries to put up wind chimes with the thought that they will keep evil spirits from entering the home. Obviously, a Christian would not make use of wind chimes for such a purpose.
No, a JW (who believes in evil spirits more than just about any other modern religion) would rely on calling out the name "Jehovah" to ward them off.

They just stopped mentioning it and have tried to realign their teachings to make creationists look unreasonable.
But with typical dishonesty, as Undercover says, they did not come out and clearly retract the 7,000 year creative days or clearly say exactly what the new thinking is.
And I think it will be a very cold day in the depths of hell when they give up the "man has only been here 6,000 years" chronology - regardless of what spin they put on the length of the creative days. Too much invested in that over the past 130 years.

Agreed, we can always HOPE -
But, the reality is that people can be pretty stupid about their belief systems. Especially people like JWs who have their thought process completely crosswired by reading nothing but WTBTS nonsense.
I read some polling study the other day that claimed that more Americans believe in the proven reality of flying saucers than believe that they will ever collect social security payments.
My gut feel is that if they got away with 1975, they can probably get away with this as well.

When I was there in the early 1970s, they had several classic brownstones - and Ed Dunlap told me that they at first tried to take them down and build a modern office-style building in their place.
The city would not let them - the outside had to maintain the same historical look of the brownstones. Inside, they converted them into bethel-style housing, but outside they looked like individual houses.
Ed and Betty's apartment was on the ground floor of one of these converted brownstones.
So, I was just guessing that maybe something similar was going on with the Gargoyles and such -

I actually have shown him a few of SD-7's posts and paraphrased others to him. I've also told him the exact thing you've said, that the longer he waits the more she's going to get hurt. I don't know what to do, even if there is something I can do to help to get him going. She is a nice girl. I feel really bad for her.
Just a thought - is he absolutely sure that she is really a die-hard JW? Maybe she entertains thoughts about getting out of it too?
