  mtv announced that mike judge is making some new beavis & butthead videos that will pretty much be similar in style to the original series except that some content will be updated like the boys' viewing lady gaga videos on mtv and making all sorts of snide remarks.. were you into beavis & butthead??

  i was just wondering.... why do we jw's make such a big deal about jesus dying on a pole, as opposed to a cross?.

  the original word, albeit, can lean either way.

  and seems in favor of a pole rather than a cross.

  Upright Stake: It was also called the obelisk, and as such was as much or more prevalent in ancient religious/pagan symbology than the traditional (ne christian) cross.

  The irony is that the Watchtower Society unwittingly verifies the stake as pagan by their insistence that this was what the Romans actually used.

  Romans, get it? (not the jews - by their standards the only non-pagan religion on earth at the time of Jesus)

  The point being missed is that the upright stake was also a pagan symbol. The watchtower does not hesitate to picture it, however.

  a predatory jw paedophile micheal porter (uk) who has a 15 year record of abuse including the rape of his own baby but somehow evaded jail now is a member of my old congregation;wimbledon.

  words fail me, to think of the years of shunning that these idiots have heaped upon me even by my own family and this piece of shit was seen a this years memorial laughing and joking with the congregation.

  strange that this news story slipped passed me when it was broadcast by the british media in 2007..

  Didn't his parole authority make any effort to specify that he had to stay away from kids?

  I don't know about UK law, but the JW molester guy in New England had this set as a parole condition - that he could not attend the KH. (Of course, he made an appeal over it, which is what made the news).

  Maybe (if Porter has a parole officer) that would be a place to protest this.

  Some are family members of JWs. I can think of several who have spouses that are in but they aren't JWs. They came here to learn more about what shit their spouse is being indoctrinated with. I guess in a way though, that does give them the "connection" you were speaking of...

  And, Undercover, the incredible thing is that several of these never-JW spouses have a better knowledge of JW belief than their mis-informed JW mates. These people give us a good picture of how little many practising JWs know about the true beliefs of their own religion.

  Article says Roy stuffed Trigger after it died in 1965.

  I remember it making the news at the time - I was in high school.

  Most people felt that it was in bad taste back then, just for what it is worth.

  I have had some pretty good dogs over the years and miss the ones that are gone. I know for sure I would NOT want them stuffed by a taxidermist and stood up in the library, nor in some tribute museum.
