Derren Brown - How to Control the Nation
by Mickey mouse inderren brown has a series of popular shows running in the uk at the moment called the events.
this week's episode purported to show him predicting the national lottery numbers live on television; he employs suggestion, mentalism, psychology and trickery in his work and in this instance it was mostly camera trickery.. next week's looks interesting, he claims he will use the power of suggestion to prevent people from being able to get out of their seats at home.. http://derrenbrown.channel4.com/derren-brown-the-events-control.shtml.
the good thing about derren brown is that he never claims to be psychic or have special powers; his act often reveals how so called spiritualists were able to give the impression of special powers when all that was involved was illusion.. the best part is that he is bringing into the public domain information about the power of mind control.

No need for science, just read the Watchtower
by jabberwock ini often hear scientists and others complain that some religious people are satisfied with "god did it" as an explanation for everything and are uninterested in what science has to say.. i never felt this way as a witness; i always felt that witnesses were very interested in scientific discoveries.. apparently, i was wrong.. r.stuart marshall is a witness with a doctorate from stanford whose life story appeared in the wt 08 12/01.
consider this telling anecdote from that article:.
the university of california wanted funds to compete with other states to win a six-billion-dollar federal project.

by angel eyes inwe have friends who say that they have had some awful shepherdings,the things theyve been told in them were far from encouraging.. we havent ever had one so to be honest i cant comment...but would love to know if you had one?

The best SC I ever had was when I showed disrespect for an Elder by taking the piss out him behind his back. He just wanted to confirm what I had said, so he could berate me about respecting the theocratic arrangemnt.
Incidently he actually stepped down and changed congregation when I was appointed myself - what a tw*t!!.

Chaperones Can Be A Good Thing!

Angel Eyes, chaperoning is strongly encouraged to prevent the chain of events that will inevetiably result in fornication. Just being alone in a car with a member of the opposite sex is grounds for a JC, especially when some over-righteous snitch grasses you up to the Elders. Keeping the congregation clean is essential otherwise Jehovah's name could be reproached.
Every congregation is the same - the Elders have policy files issued by the WTS and they are more important than the bible, they must be implemented. Please don't believe the organisation is anything other than a high control cult.

Dealing with a 'molested child' in a Judicial matter.
by dissed ini'm trying to respect the privacy of this individual, so forgive me if i'm a little too vague in my descriptions.. this for me, was the most emotional and difficult judicial matter that i have ever experienced.
its been many years since this happened and i'm still troubled, and troubled for this individual.. a young sister had committed fornication and i was chosen to sit on the judicial committee.. the case didn't make sense at first.
she was a faithful example in the congregation and was very much liked by all.

It just goes to show we are not in anyway qualified to sit in judgement. It's not your fault it is the flawed and cruel system Elders have to apply in order to prove they are spiritual men.

Jury, err, Judicial Committee Nullification
by Open mind injust had a brain fart and i don't think i'll actually try this, but see what you think.. .
i made myself a promise that i was done serving on jcs roughly 2 years ago.
and, with the exception of a rubber stamp reinstatement charade, i've kept that promise.

Open mind - that's my approach too. I haven't sat on a JC for about a year, and have vowed not to sit on anymore, thankfully we have a couple of Elders who love to be on them.

by the research lady inbiblically speaking, god has many names.
marvin t. wilson, author of the book "yhwh in the bible, divine titles, names and attributes will be the guest on the telephone conference call "in search of truth" this coming saturday sept.12,2009 to discuss this subject.
since jehovah's witnesses insist on using what they say is the only name for god, jehovah, they may surprised to hear what marvin's research has discovered.
