  For Those Lurking, Thinkiing of Leaving, Just Leaving, How Do You....

  ... start over with friends?.

  i would like to suggest that we leave finding another church out of this, not because it isn't a good idea for our theistically minded friends.

  for those that choose to do so, it seems like they do alright, and that seems the easiest suggestion to make.. so if thats for you, consider me taking care of that as suggestion #1.. but what if you need a break from the whole church scene?

  Starting to write here after reading for years

  i decided to join the group though im reading this forum since years now.

  i almost know you all....by nickname i mean..... my husband joined you a few years ago already.

  but i do not feel so free of speech because english is not my mother tongue, but i read a lot english books, have some relations with english speaking people, have a nice friend who is active on this forum and very known (because of her discoveries), so i will try to do my best.

  Intelligent JWs only outside the KH?

  hi to everyone out there and thanks for all the amazing posts on here i read every day.. there are a few people in my area that i would consider intelligent - there is one guy who used to be a chemistry teacher, for example.

  another one knows his sciences too, and his job revolves around that knowledge.. but he confuses me a little... he knows all this stuff and then at the same time he completely ignores it and casts it aside and says the earth is only 7000 years old.

  (yes, he holds to this - he told me himself and grew annoyed when i tried to show that the new wts leave it a little more open for explanation -- the bible agree with science 'special' one for example).

  That isn't even a WT teaching. They say the human race is 7000 years old not the earth.

  Resurrection or re-creation?

  this thing (along with jehovah's capability to know everything before, wich leads to predetermination) bothered me the most while i was a practicant jw, and the topic of jws mourning brought it back to me.

  maybe someone could shed a light on how jws cope with this problem.

  i've seen this mentioned at other places too, so it's not just me who thought of this problem.. as we all know, jw doctrine tells that absolutely nothing survives the death.

  I have always had a problem with this. Also all bad memories will be erased, but don't the bad memories have an impact on the development of who we are? Do we not learn from them? Another aspect is sexual desire after resurrection / recreation. Are the recreated ones going to have sexual desires? Are those who spouses in the old system remarried after there husband / wife died going to forget their previous marriages. Or will there still be strong feelings? If those feelings are removed what is left? To be honest I would rather be reincarnated.

  i was checking out alice in chains' new album "black gives way to blue" and how they've replaced deceased frontman layne staley with william duvall.

  it got me thinking of other bands that have done this, like journey replacing steve perry with steve augeri and arnel pineda, and inxs replacing michael hutchence with j.d.

  Phil Collins could do a pretty good impression Peter Gabriel when he left. But he never delivered the same level of creativity. He also seemed to lose the ability to play drums, he never did anything as complicated as the percussion on Cinema Show after Gabriel left.

  many newly exiting the jw 's feel lost , like they don't know what to do , or where to turn, what causes that ?

  Where does NEW LIGHT come from?

  the watchtower has said over and over that they are not inspired (even though their earlier publications claimed that they were modern-day prophets), so where exactly does "new light" come from?

  if they are not inspired by god, why should anyone listen to them?.

  When we speak, the words and direction to scripture, is directed by Holy Spirit. I realized this in the Field many times.

  Give us a specific example of this so we can all understand the process.

  alone in the hse with opposite sex....is it crazy ??? or not??

  regarding being in the house with someone of opposite sex...thats a conscience thing too, the individual decides yet many claim that if they were seen in the house with someone of opposite sex they could stumble people..i think its them who have the problem, how can someone think the worse and make an accusation!?!?!

  they are the ones with the problem and should be counselled, not the ones together.

  its up to the individuals, we shouldnt have to take on other people consciences and be worried what others say...jehovah sees all things and at the end of the day we stand before jah's throne on judgment day not sister or brother so and so.

  When I was much younger, before I was married I used to work in a car showroom where we had a lovely looking receptionist. She didn't drive so it was normal for one of the salesman who had a company to drive her to to bank if she need to cash cheques etc and then to the train station so she could get home. It was my turn to do this one day and as I was waiting out side the bank for her one the elders saw me and decided to follow me to the train station. I was given an intererogation as to who she was, why there wasn't anyone else in the car with us, did I have any feelings for her etc. At the time I thought that the elders were concerned about my spiritual well being. In retrospect -WOW!! What a bunch prying gits.
