hello all my new friends here,.

when i disassociated myself back in 1981, there were only just a couple instances afterwards, where the jdubs came to my door in the service of their ministry.

during those times, i would never ever answer the door.

It's when one realizes that there is no need to be angry, let the anger go, and let your natural empathy and concern for others shine through is when you have them, and you can show them..!!! That's also when you become free!!! Remember, you can only become a victim if YOU let it happen... !!! More importantly, when you really think about how their lives are, for me anyway, I feel nothing but sorrow/empathy and pity for them... I want to help them every time I meet one.. So, I just 'turn' the other cheek when they get insulting, and usually remind them that Jehovah wouldn't approve of their attitude.. They should be more 'humble'...

And, when an ELDER get's haughty at ya, just remind him that Jehovah doesn't approve of Haughty/prideful people, and he was THEOCRATICALLY appointed, so he needs to set the example, and just what example is he setting now?.. Correct him, tell him that he should be more humble, and forgive him for his transgression. Tthey love that, and REALLY appreciate you trying to help them become better witnesses, TRUST ME

It seems evident that the easiest and most direct
understanding of the various Biblical statements is that the 70 years began
with the complete desolation of Judah after Jerusalem was destroyed.

I assume that is the exact reasoning used (it seems evident from bible (scriptural) understanding) regarding what the word generation means

I assume that is the exact reasoning used (it seems evident from bible (scriptural) understanding) regarding wether the people of Sodom and Gomorah will be ressurected for a 'second chance'

I assume that is the exact reasoning used (it seems evident from bible (scriptural) understanding) regarding blood transfusions, and the 'blood fractions' that are and are not acceptable

I assume that is the exact reasoning used (it seems evident from bible (scriptural) understanding) regarding celebrations of Christmas/Birthdays/etc

I assume that is the exact reasoning used (it seems evident from bible (scriptural) understanding) regarding scriptural divorce, and what does and does not constitute grounds for such

Funny thing, is, and I'm sure there are people on this board that can add to this very small list that I made, all of the above (bible/scriptural understandings) have changed over the years...

The Governing Body claim that all the information they get is uninspired and just gathered from examining the scriptures themselves.. Yet every JW in good standing 'agrees' with however they interpret the scriptures. And when the scriptural interpretation changes (or in some case, not even a scriptural interpretation -- example -- beards) all the JW's re-read the scriptures, and say, yup, I agree that's what it says to me too... (or at least that is what the world is lead to believe)...

Would you state to me right now INFACTICALLY that if the INTERPRETATION OF THE DESTRUCTION OF 607 B.C.E for Jerusalem is changed by the WTBTS to some other date in the future, that you will leave the organization because you KNOW absolutely that they are false, and that you have researched for yourself and come to the conclusion all by yourself that the 607 date is correct. So correct in fact, that a change in that date will force you to DA yourself from the JW religion because you KNOW that is the correct date!!!

My guess is that you will not state the above, because you know in your heart that if the organization came out tomorrow and said, "upon reexamination of the scriptures, we conclude that Jerusalem was destroyed in 539 BCE" you would suddenly look back at the scriptures they used to arrive at the new date, and say, yup, I see that... Thank Jehovah for giving us new light...

So, my question then is, if you will not agree that a change in the date that you so elequently argued for is correct, no matter what the WTBTS states in the future (and indeed if the organization changes that date you will out of conscience DA yourself from the organization) , can you then explain to me how you are NOT following the dictates of men, just like Jesus warned the Pharisees about?

What, though, if a young son in the family is a dedicated, baptized servant of Jehovah God? How can a 'young son' choose for himself to say that he is ready to dedicate himself to Jehovah, study and prepare and 'pass' all the requirements, and become baptized, yet not be sufficiently capable of offering prayer to Jehovah?

How can this happen?

What is Faith?

when i was a 'dub, i beleived that faith was the hebrews 11 thing, but since i have put aside that way of thinking and no longer believe god or believe the bible to be anything more than a collection of human history and philosophy, i tend to think in terms of faith being no more than the dictionary definition: .

1 a : allegiance to duty or a person : loyalty b (1) : fidelity to one's promises (2) : sincerity of intentions.

2 a (1) : belief and trust in and loyalty to god (2) : belief in the traditional doctrines of a religion b (1) : firm belief in something for which there is no proof (2) : complete trust.

I believe faith (in the spiritual/religious connotation) would be a 'faith' in the human spirit..

* I have faith that people are inherently good, and I try to treat people as I would like to be treated.. (the golden rule, I guess)...

* I have faith in LOVE (not JW love that is seriously limited in scope and only given under certain circumstances and conditions, but real love where you want to see the other(s) grow for their good, not yours). I have faith that I am loved the same way that I love. (Sometimes this takes a very big leap of faith!!! but I do it, because I believe you will only find the kind of love that you exhibit yourself -- You cannot expect to receive it without giving it in the first place (although I do believe in undeserved kindness) -- And I'm happy to report that I have found and continue to search for it in others every day)

* I have faith that love is the most powerful force to us humans, and it really does conquer all...

* I have faith that Jesus Christ died for us so we may understand and know the above (By showing us by his loving example that this all powerful love can and does exist if you honestly look for it, and give an honest effort to make sure you act that way, so others can find it in you)

The main reason I am drawn to this board, and the great people here is because I believe in these principals with all my heart and sole, and now that I've met a few JW's it is quite evident that they don't have any knowledge of love, only of conditional acceptance.. I believe that there are JW's out there that have 'real love' and even show it as best they can within the confines of their rules and laws that they must obey, but they are trained to be 'cold-hearted' and that just breaks my heart...

Every time I think it, it makes me cry to think that the people to claim "You will know my diciples by the love they have for one another" have no clue what that really means, and it hurts me even more to think the ones that aren't cold-hearted (I'm an optimist, so I think the majority don't naturally have a cold heart -- I've seen proof of this from at least one witness) are having their own humanity and human spirits broken, taken away from them.. The truest and worst form of slavery!

I have faith that in some way I can make a difference, I know my sole cries out for them so badly that I must try something... For I have faith that real love is the most powerful force known to man, and to walk away from these people who are so in need of feeling and seeing real love would be a sin against my faith.

SUICIDE IN KH PARKING LOT

last saturday, a former ministerial servant and pioneer committed suicide in the woodinville washington kingdom hall parking lot.

he was disfellowshipped several years ago, and according to the old sister that related the story to me today, he was depressed because no one would talk to him.

i don't know how i kept calm when she explained to me that "we couldn't talk to him...he was disfellowshipped.".

All this illustrates the fact that, though Jehovah purposes perfection for his organization, he does not try to correct all things at once. As they could endure it and as they needed it, as their hearts softened in response to his love, Jehovah brought them closer to him in his gentle, loving way

I guess their hearts hadn't softened enough 25-30 years ago.. I guess they finally progressed enough for Jehovah to reveil to them that child abuse is to be abhored.. Whew! I'm glad the JW's have matured enough to handle that new light... I wonder how long it will be before Jehovah reveils to them that salvation comes from faith, not works? (I'll bet that will be a long time in coming -- to bad their heart conditions don't warrant that yet!)

The Watchtower recognizes the truth as belonging to Jehovah, and not to any creature.
Interesting, can one BE the truth without it belonging to them?
As the WT teaches that Christ is a creature, therefore following their doctrine the truth doesn't belong to Him, even tho Jesus says in the "inspired" scripture they hold so dear, that HE IS the truth.

FROM THE DESK OF THE GB:

Ooops, --- err ---- there was new light, ya, that's the ticket.. New light... Jesus is a special CLASS of creature.. Yeah, that's it.. There are two types of creatures.. The "annointed" creatures, which Christ and the F&DS slave are, and non-annointed lowly old creatures, which the rest of you are, along with the birds, animals, etc.. etc.. etc..

So, in light of the new light (G), YES, we can BE the truth (as long as we are wearing our 'special' annointed class creature hat) but when we get something wrong we have taken off our 'annointed class hat' and decided to 'come on down from the clouds' and see how the lowlifes live.. (we don't want to appear haugty and arrogant after all)

When we get something wrong, it's because we weren't told in advance that new information was forthcoming, and so we didn't have our hats on at the time.. As soon as we realized that a new message was coming in, we put our hats on as fast as we could, but sometimes in our human inperfection, we missed getting the hat on in time to get the entire message.. The message is received garbled, but we try our best to decifer it and give the spiritual food out anyway.. Of course, this is all part of Jehovah's grand plan, he knows that we didn't have our hats on straight at the time he sent the message, so it was his fault that the message is garbled and needs further correction on down the road.. Isn't it wonderful how Jehovah provides for us in these trying times!!!
