I think someone should call Dateline, and ask them straight out what happened to the apology on their website for the May 28 program.. Tell them that an elder in the JW congregation said that you appologized for the program and it was on their website, but you cannot find the link....
If the person plays their cards right, I have a feeling dateline might even do a follow-up story on the JW's
In fact, I'd be sure to give the elders name, phone number, congregation, etc.. And make sure you sound really ipset that dateline would put something on the air that they found wasn't true, and retracted, but only on their website, which obviously is of sooo little importance to them that you cannot even find the apology.. And then I would ask when they are gonna retract it on Dateline itself?
Wouldn't it be great if Dateline's lawyer called the Elder directly
Don't think it will happen, but it certainly is wishful thinking..
Regardless, I'm sure dateline will come out and state infatically that they stand behind their program, and no retraction has been done.. !!!!
Of course, I'd go one step further then, and ask the elder where he got his information..
And, then I agree with Dung, lying is the tool of Satan, and I would stop the book study immediatly after you find out the truth, and confront the elder!
Oh, I would have fun with this one!!!!!!!! It almost makes me want to start a book study so an elder can lie to me like that :-)
