There is such thing as accomodation descrimination, but if you ask an attorney you are told they only do employment descrimination.

by cedars ini was interested to read the life story of leonard smith in the latest april 15th watchtower (now available for download at www.jw.org).
it's not every day i notice a brit getting to relate his life story in the literature, so this peaked my curiousity.. i chuckled to myself when i stumbled on the following anecdote on page 21:.
is it just me, or is that not just a thinly-veiled way of saying "shut up with your moaning, and get back to work!"???.

Don't know who this brother Knorr is but he probably on welfare and or lives intirely on donations. Let him work by the job and if he doesnt't get paid until the job is done and done right he doen't get anything and see if he still thinks the same...

Igot2beme, you mentioned you have private property signs up on your property. For me I tried that just to get any people to quit bothering me so I can get some work done and it only made stupid people ask more questions, so I got the JW's to help me put a fense up with a gate and I locked it with them on the outside and just don't answer the door when I don't want to be bothered. You can not tell people what to do, it only makes them mad. People do not know how to read signs...

Did you ever "feel" the holy spirt "apon you"?
by highdose insome jw's claimed that when they were out door to door that they could feel the angels guiding them and jehovahs spirt apon them.. others claimed this when having prayed felt a sense of calm afterwards.

When I hear of them claiming the holy spirit guides them when going door to door makes me wonder then, "their holy spirit must be a mean SOB for following me to work." I did not know exactly who it was that followed me to my new job in a new town because I was out running arrends and come back to work and everyone looked as though they seen a ghost and finally the manager told me what happened and I was mad and was telling witnesses that I did not like that and usually they would say that they were just in the neighborhood and stopped by, but that can not be because there not a nieghborhood around there and beside the place where I was was fensed in and it was a mile journey to go all the way around to the back of the building where I was working. But I am a bad person for complaining, F them then and the holy spirit must be helping me to get rid of them then... so I can put food on my table.

my 93 yr. old widowed destitute mother has dementia.
i am her only child.

I don't know 3rdgen, afraid to give out any legal advise, but I think if I were you I would go to the DHS Office in person and tell them that you heard you were reported for elderly abuse and would like to talk to clear things up... They will not tell you who made the allegations, if you were reprted, and trust me you don't want to know, let the DHS figure it out... it could be a number of things, some one at the rest home afraid of loosing their job, the rest home just wants to milk the government, who knows maybe even J dub trying to sell mag.s...
Stay away from everyone especially JW's for awhile any ways...

3rdgen, Sorry to hear about your experience and can imagine what you are going through... Had simular expeirences myself being the only one that was doing good for my Mother and everyone against me, accusing me of elderly abuse and I tried and tried to get an attorney to help, draining me because no one would help, attorney's would not even call me back to see if I have any money, just wasting my time, even thought about commiting myself to a mental institution, all the lies and alligations pretty hard to deal with, makes you just want to break down and just cry because you will never even get an apollogy, they are just a bunch of ruthless bastards trying to squeeze some money out of the government or anyone they can, as for me I finally realized that there nothing they can do with alligations and the report of abuse is made so that I can not have the responsibillty of taking care of my elderly Mother, someone wants me out of the way so they can have the money, it really hurts but I had no other choice but to abandon my Mother, sent a certified letter to the rest home and a copy to the DHS, I heard a rumor that I can not just leave with out telling some one so that is what I did by sending the certified letter stating I have not the time for the back stabbings so you will have to find another contact, do not contact me because I will just ignore you.
It has been about 3 months now and haven't heard a thing even telemarketers quit leaving messages, makes a person wonder if there was a connection??? but any way it does really hurt to loose my Mother, and I know that I did the best I could and did nothing wrong. I did call my Mother Christmas Day, and New years Day, but it appears I can not go near my Mother again... I told Mother that I will see her on the other side...

Seem like a lot of my hair turned grey right after attending meetings with the JW's and sense I quit going I have noticed less grey hairs. I have always looked young for my age and beleive I stayed young looking by remaining calm and not letting things bother me and after attending meetings my age started catching up with me.

Just remembered a story I heard one time, that this woman that worked at a bomb factory and the factory had a small explosion and it scared this woman so bad that her hair turned white instantly.
