no where else can you find a chrstian org with people like the ones ive seen in the halls.

Don't worry too much what other people are doing... if you don't want to celibrate holidays with them don't. I usually disapear around the holidays myself... or too busy

There was this guy kinda old very seldom even went to the meetings but when he did they treated him as something his name always on the board too. Never seen him in FS. Went with a guy to deliver him some mags, he lived in a vacant motel full of antiques.
He donated a very large some of money to the JW's when he died... go figure
I have known JW's all my life, had a very rough child hood and the JW's never tried to reach me until it looked as though I was doing well for myself...

Rutherford responded: prepared copy for The Watch Tower and other publications; and occasionally written a book or booklet and followed it progress through the manufacturing thereof
Made sure "his" books being sold, quite the business man...

by frigginconfused incould a man with long hair and a scruffy face make it up to elder status?.
ive seen some a list actors with long hair and beards at award shows.
they looked sexy, mature, and profesional.. think a guy like that could make it?.

One time I was trying to tell someone that was giving me a bible study when I was young and hung around long hairs hippies bikers or what ever that the reason why they grew their hair long was trying to tell people something and he stopped me right there "Ya rebellion is what it is" he said...
I don't see it as rebellion, most people or all people that have long hair do not know or beleive it is scripturely wrong and according to God if a person does not know that they are doing wrong then they are not held responsible according to God's eyes. So how are they rebelling? I don't get it.
I think people grow their hair long to tell people that it is not the outward appearance that you can judge a person, it is like saying hay look at me on the inside... I look bad on the outside but I am one hell of a nice guy on the inside.

i have seen some very nice people outside the org. But they still celebrate xmas and halloween. they dont seperate from the world
Learning to stop judging people is a very important step in your recovery.

No don't think I would do mormon's, have relation that was mormon, they would not say much about their experience but got the impression they were controling because my reletives moved and changed their last name.
I was walking down Guadalupe in Austin, TX. one time and a church of scientology lured me in and sold me a book and the very next time I come by there they wanted me to run there printing press and I asked how much it paid and they said nothing and I never come back again. Sell me a book then want me to print books for free...
When I go to this church next Sunday, if I see any sign of control I will be gone...

I am just thinking, I am going to go to this church this Sunday and see what happens... I have been thunking about it for some time. A couple of years ago there was a single mother with a boy going in there, the way she looked at me I liked her and thought at the time to try and get her to go to the KH with me, but that has changed, I think I will go there instead. Just a few weeks ago someone sudjested to me that I should go to that church and the person never knew anything about what I was thinking about the church either, he said they are all my age group. Bet I can find just as much truth there or more then going to the KH, besides I desperately need something to do. Hope I can fit in before someone finds out I tried to be a JW. Think I will tell them oh! I have tried all sorts of stuff over the years. I don't even want to talk about JW's... used to run with ex-JW's years ago that I have known all my life and finally realize I need stay completely clear of it.

I have never felt at home at a bar
by sabastious inlast night i went to the casino for a friends birthday, we played blackjack and some slots, it was a 6.5/10 on the fun scale type of night.
i got up from the blackjack table to go to the bar to get myself a drink.
i sat down at the bar and ordered my favorite drink: a long island iced tea.

I had that problem too... Practically had to beet the girls off of me with a stick when I was young, but no one likes me anymore.
A few years ago went to a friends house and had a beer then another and another and we went of to a strip joint down town and we got kicked out then we went to another bar and was kicked out went to several other bars and was kicked out of all of them then we were put behind bars. Haven't even been drinking sense, we forgot we were not kids any more, and I don't think kids play the way we used to when we were kids.
People are way too serious now days...

I remember one time I was at a bar standing close to the bar and all of a sudden I mean everyone was fighting the whole place was a mad house knock down drag out and I was standing there drinking my drink like nothing was going on.
