I heard the veges from a truck AGES ago in the US. They must be re-cycling their stories (as if that's never been done before)

Australian Convention Pioneer family Experience - We found our vegetables in the gutter..why do they wanna be Martyrs?
by Witness 007 ina couple years ago district convention - a pioneer family with two kids explained how they had ran out of funds and had no dinner...as they turned the corner out witnessing they saw a vegetable truck had spilled some produce in the gutter and so "jehovah provided in our time of need..." i felt like yelling get a job you bum stop starving!!
not encouraging.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and assume you mean Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. 45-50 minutes outside of Melbourne, Florida, USA, would put you almost to Orlando (home of Walt Disney World).

Sticky Situation - What to do?
by I<3MYGod ini have posted about my experience with the cult....so now i find myself in a difficult position.
i have left it alone for many years but i wonder what you guys think.. i faded away from the cult and stopped going for quite a while.
my older sister took it upon herself to meet with my family and discuss all my sins and actions (they were active).

What I have learned about people working at the Driver's License office
by moshe ini have winter job working at the local bmv and it has been an eye opener.
i man the reception desk and direct people to the correct desk for help.. don't ever leave your purse in a car- it can get stolen (broken windows)- so take it with you or lock it in the trunk.. don't ever keep your social security card in your wallet or purse.
if it gets stolen, you are a prime candidate for identity theft.. over 25% of the people coming in to get identity cards , i see driving their car out of the parking lot.

Sab - Don't forget married women also have to show their marriage license! How many would expect to need that when they go to the DMV office.

BTW -
Just now reading the thread and the sidebar was/is? much more interesting. By the way, my paternal grandparents were descended from the Jews who did NOT stay in Spain, unlike you mother's side. Does that make us cousins?

I have a vita-mix. East to clean, does more than juice. I use it occassionally. It does not, however, remove the pulp (that's suppose to be the best part anyway. (http://www.vitamix.com)

Has being a JW turned you into a doormat?
by highdose ini confess it has for me.
when people are nasty to me and agressive i tend to freeze and have no idea what to say!.
all those years of being brainwashed into "turn the other cheek" etc etc kick in.

My answer is no - I was a doormat before I joined.

I never heard of the Belief-O-Matic before, so I took it. Like most multiple choice quizes there were often times when it was between two, but neither fit. Anyway, it came back 100% Sikhism, which is something else I've never heard of before. Followed the link, and by gosh, I agreed with a lot of what was stated - except the reincarnation part. I'll have to read up on Sikhism, I guess.

Why would you want 'to prevent forest fires'?
by AK - Jeff inbefore anyone jumps down my throat about the disruption of lives, occasional deaths, or property damage that occurs: i am basically referring to forest fires that occur in remote location.. seem to me that following the money on this one leads to greed.
deforestation by natural fire, volcanoes, and so forth, has been occuring on this planet for a very long time, and is generally positive in the long run for the land.
aside from some concern about erosion, in time the area is better than it was before the fire.. housing, tourism, infrastructure, seem to be the big losses that concern us.. just thinking outloud, out of the box i have trained to stay within by both my country and other institutions seeking to control my opinion.. jeff.

One jingle/bumper sticker spotted in support of managed forest fires include: More Prescribed Burns - Fewer Wildfires. Another: Burn often, burn safe. A prescribed burn it just what it sounds like. An area is selected to burn (based on natural communities and how often they would burn on their own), then a prescription is written covering humidity, wind speed and direction, etc. If conditions meet the prescription a burn takes place. Of course, there are times that the weather changes, but that's another topic.
