What I'm Going to Do About Climate Change!

i know many here are very passionate about this subject, and i must admit both sides have made me think about it more than i would have normally.. but in the final analysis i'm disposed to do absolutely nothing about it and this is my reasoning on it.. we are all going to die some day, and realistically there is not much we can do about it, so why worry about some future time when the planet might have less space on it for humans to live there is nothing i can do to make a difference anyway.

what is going to happen will happen my worrying about it isn't going to change anything.. the planet is already over populated because of our longer life span and medical advancements.

we can't keep multiplying like we have and expect things to just keep on going like they are going without any serious repercussions to our species.

Effinham Inlet in British Columbia has some of the most accurate core samples from undisturbed basin floors for millinnea, up to 5000 years of data has been collected. Its the sun that effects climate change a study of reading sunsposts, the Suess cycle, Gliessberg Cycle etc has an effect on climate change.

Too many factors and one sided evidencento draw any solid conclusions at this point in my opinion.

What Are Some Ridiculous Things JWs Have Said?

Just lately I had a new witness or approved associate not baptized say that he had heard that a bro from the GB had said in a talk that they witnessing has been preached in all the world. He also stated that the people in Afghanistan were already judged as being unworthy.

I said (he knows I am ex and still talks to me) give your head a shake you really believe that all those innocent children and women who have been victimized their whole life are unworthy thats just sick man. How can you serve a god that is so full of hate man seriously, he sort of turned red and said hey I totally understand your viewpoint.............yeah right.

I think he counted time the whole way we rode together!

I keep loosing my connection

it has been raining very hard here for the last two days and keep getting disconnected.

sometimes 2 or 3 times in a couple of minutes.

is this normal for wifi?.

PARENTING AS A XBORG ORG .........HOW DIFF IS IT FOR YOU?

i am a proud parent of a great kid..........fortunately raised as a non jw .. i could see at an early age that manipulation and control just wasn't working for me as a parent.. i remember calling at a door years ago ( i can still remeber the exact door and neighbourhood, so it left quite the impression on me) the householder said simply : thats just wrong to bring your child with you they are way too young to be brought into a religious debate and to take sides on issues like this , where's your head at?

i remember thinking whew where is my head at?.

then i recalled that friends of ours in a local congregation where chastised by an overly aggressive judgemental elder, one of those who didn't allow their kids to watch tv or wear any clothing that might be construed as worldly.. he accused our friends 14 yr old daughter of looking like a prostitute because her skirt was two inches above her knee.

The girls parents were actually so worried about what the Borgorg elder thought that they chastised and grounded their daughter. I was really upset at the time and thought about the ramifications of selling your daughter out like that!

I know that parenting is very challenging, what is working for you now that your out? What positive feedback have you had that your decision to leave was the best thing a parent could possibly do?

i was in the truth all my life, i pioneered and was deeply involved.

i left because i realised the real truth and i could not live a hypocritical life.

the first year was terrible, i went to the lowest of low.

I already Love you............... No matter how hard it is or difficult to leave, Freedom turned me on so much it was worth anything to be free from the BorgOrg:

I was so lucky that my spouse hit the wall at a similar time and we both left, that is what I consider a modern day miracle .

WTBS taking care of older ones?

does anyone know if the society/organization is financially taking care of the older ones?.

my husband and i left the org over 10 years ago, we are of the generation where our parents came to the jw's in the 70's, gave up everything they owned, had no college education, and stuck to the usual janitorial/construction jobs so they wouldn't miss any meetings.

this of coarse means they have no retirement money and see nothing wrong with that as the end of the system is soon upon us.

Nice.............. its all about how wicked, and unchristian, worldy governments are who are the antichrist but they are the first thing that Older ones are supposed to run to like mother when they require any kind of material assistance.

Years and years of service to the BorgOrg, sometimes feeling obligated to pay for magazines and books when they can barley afford food. Hours and hours standing on the corner with absolutely no pay back ever..............seems the older ones that I know where neglected often.

I understand that only the elite Borg are looked after during those hard years I guess very fortunate in comparison to just the lowly sheep.

i have a jw friend who's done somethings with his jw girlfriend in the porneia category.

not intercourse though.. he wants to go to the elders and confess.

i'm not sure of his reasons why, i mean he sees the bs of the cult.

Unfortunately we used to have one specific elder that used to love to question about the sexual activity he was" really good " at interrogation . It left most of us very embarassed. I really hated his method's never had any respect for him cause I knew he was the first guy that would be involved in anything nasty in his own life. Later he was seen in a Porno store downtown perving out, he's still on my most disrespected hated elder list.

Proudly when I left I made contact with those who I felt were unjustly disfellowshipped and apologized for such judgemental cruel treatment. A bunch of horny old guys who are clueless in really helping people work out their probs and just grabbing and twisting scriptures to fit their own interpetation of what is right and wrong, really scary.

Your an awesome young person, way in tune for your age!

I love that your family is actually "Lights on!" see's the Truth for what it really is, a super controlling performance oriented society.

Take a deep deep breath your in for a bumpy ride, but it seems you have support of your immediate family that is pretty incredible.

It took me a while to grasp that these so called friends weren't that at all but only associates that happen to have been bullied by the borg they have no real understanding of real friendship .................so what are you loosing? not much in the end when you really pause to think about it.

Try not to think too too far in the future, try to deal with one day at a time and spend time to give yourself some positive support a slap on your own back so to speak. Its amazing that we are all either on our way out or have been able to detach from all that negative bullshit we have put up with because of some bad decisions of our parents that were made about religion.

I left because I couldn't manipulate my kids minds.....................that was my wake up call, glad you had yours!

Panic attacks + "You had another nightmare last night": Part 2

ever since i got married and had to return to cult activities to keep peace in my home, i've been having panic attacks.

i think i'm having panic attacks.

... anyone else go through panic attacks?

What helped me with Panic Attacks was a Psychiatrist who used cognitive therapy, therapy that deals with the hear and now. This kind of help doesn't dig into your past but just deals with the here and now. I was able to get immediate help without any prescriptive drugs. It took quite a bit of therapy didn't happen overnight but was very beneficial..

My first panic attack was when I was 16 and I din't get therapy till in my 30's............ years of attacks while in the BorgOrg. Can't believe I put up with it over all those years was amazing to conquer it and quite a relief.

I really feel that it is a result of an inner turmoil of unresolved issues that you feel you have no control over. The feeling is very similair to being lost as a young person.

Some people are just hard wired for this and it tends to run in families. It is the fight or flight reaction on steroids for some of us. It really helps to be able to recognize the triggers. For me the largest trigger was being part of the BorgOrg that was half my problem. I really understand where your at it takes quite a bit of effort but the result will be totally worth it. Good luck!
