Welcome to this forum. I was once an elder who was removed because of my adult daughter getting df. She did not have a job and at that time could not support herself. So she stayed at home and the boe did not like that. My wife, other 2 children, and I left the organization. My wife eventually became active again in the congregation though. You will appreciate the thoughts and social interchange of this forum.

What are your feelings about U S Supreme Court DNA ruling?
by Glander inwashington -- a narrowly divided supreme court ruled monday that police can collect dna from people arrested but not yet convicted of serious crimes, a tool that more than half the states already use to help crack unsolved crimes.. this dna sample will of course go into a huge database similar to fingerprints.. .

This can be good to make sure that the correct person is the criminal or not.

Those that heard this horrible talk should write the branch and protest. Oh no, he is of the GB and therefore can say anything without correction. How sick!

2034 is going to be a huge letdown for the dubs

I think that most jws look to the end being right around the corner. That was the thinking 30 years ago with my friends who passed away. I think that is still the thinking today. I remember ones saying that they never expected their children to graduate from high school before the end. Now these children are grown and I have heard them express the same thing. My wife told me that the end will come before my 20 year old son ever retires. Funny, I thought the same thing about me when I was 20 years old.

How Many Of You Remember THIS Song...
by titch inand...actually enjoyed it, although you weren't supposed to enjoy it?
the song that i'm referring to, i found it on youtube last night.
it was "oh happy day" by the edwin hawkins singers, and it came out in may or june of 1969. i remember that it hit the pop charts way back then, and radio stations in southern california---like khj and kfwb---were giving it air time.

I remember that song, but that was before I was a jw. Didn't know that there was anything wrong with this song.

OKAY... July 2013 Witchtower. The end ain't coming fo at least 30 years...
by hamsterbait inthe noolite in the july study rag, is that all the annointed will be in heaven when armageddy starts.. they already proved from the scriptures that there is not going to be a rapture of annointed.
(as a study pointed out they would "never" go back to a teaching they had disproved with the babble).
since mark sanderson is about 48, is in beth hell and receives the very best of health care, we can count on him living until at least 70 - 80. unless he dies of cancer or obesity or an accident.

They did not let up on the "death threats" after the new understanding of the meaning of "generation". Hence I think most witnesses will gloss over this information in the July WT or feel that this is way over the head too complicated. Either way, like most of the gibberish the WTS gives, the flock blindly follows.
